Sparky wrote:Oh gosh, poor Coffee and poor you
He probably ought to be on the metacam twice a day - what dose is he getting and is it the dog one? Many vets don't prescribe enough pain relief for rabbits.
He is probably not drinking much because his food is being moistened, so he is getting adequate hydration from that.
Poos being off is probably because of low fibre intake and perhaps a bit of stress / discomfort. I'm not sure what form fibreplex is - is it a paste, anyone? I wonder if that is worth trying to get his fibre intake up.
I would keep him quiet and away from the other buns until he is feeling a lot better.
Lots of vibes for Coffee and some for you.
Hi Sparky,
Good to have you back and hope you are ok.
Yes it is the dog one and he gets 0.8 ml once a day.
And this evening poos are getting bigger
Just sat with him for his supper and after half of his veg portion he jumped onto my lap and cuddles me whilst I'm writing this. Such a sweet boy!

Re: Vibes for Coffee please :-((
I second what Sparky says about the Metacam, I would say he needs to be on that amount twice a day. Bunnies need 5 x as much, twice as often. Its something that most vets haven't kept up to date with. Charlie has a 12 kg dose twice a day as does Annabelle.
Please pass on a cuddle to him from me.

I'm glad he is improving, buns do heal fast
I'd certainly increase his Metacam if you feel he needs it, I think it's actually quite hard to 'overdose' a bun on metacam, at least in the short term. We go by the 5x as much 2x a day guideline too. reducing as bun seems to improve.

Update 26th
Cool, thanks for that. This morning he took it without struggle or any hesitation straight from the syringe . Than woof fled down the plate of veg prepared for him.
He has been out since lunchtime and seems to enjoy himself, even a little binky was noticed.
But...
He continues to growl to Bubbles. I wonder whether she has got anything to do with the injury?!?
At first I big thank you to everyone for vibes and advice and tips!
He is doing great.
I give metacam twice a day and he gets treated with laser therapy too.
The necrotic bit on his tounge has disappeared ? Fallen off. He is eating although it seems he struggles to pick up some foods so I'm pondering about a device to help with this i.e. bird feeder or so. He needs to have his food given in a 45% ankle rather than 90% ,
He seems to enjoy himself and any questions of neighbours and friends? Regarding to pts are frankly answered with .... Off! Thank you.
We may even found a solution for the outdoor housing even if I can't bond them as a trio. Thanks Vince the bunny.
I have not given the baytril injection today as the necrotic tissue has gone the tounge is pink and looks good to me and I rather covered him with a treatment with the homeopathic imprinter.
All upbeat here. Tomorrow check up with vet at 10.15.

Well done Coffee!
In answer to Sparky's question about the Fibreplex, mine has always been in paste form. Might be worth a try if he's still having soft poops?
Sending extra top-up vibes and hugs to you both. Poorly buns are so stressful
