Relaxed in my new temp? Space
Just a couple of recent pics from coffee in the lounge. He really thrived since out of the warren. He is playful, cuddlely and relaxed.
He certainly loves to socialise with us and I wonder whether it is a good idea to home him outside if I can't bond him to another bun. Or would it be better to let Bertie and Bubbles have the Wendy house for themselves and keep this sweetheart as an indoor bun with limited access to the outside run.
Decisions to make soon as I need to let the man who will build the Wendy house know what's what.

he is adorable!
its up to you, but if you dont plan to get him a partner then and indoor bun would be better for him as he would have alot more social interaction. he does seem to be loving the indoors!

Re: Relaxed in my new temp? Space
It is not that I don't want to get him a hunbun. The issue is that he wasn't keen on other buns whilst at the rescue and had various fighting events with my two other buns since I adopted him. He has no fromt teeth and this is a disadvantage for him. Hence the last fight resulted in him being bitten badly which won't help.
My thought is to give it one last try and see whether any local rescue would take him for a few days to see how he reacts with bunny girls when not in his territory and bond him if successful.
I will get a Wendy house 6x5 ft and asked to have a second door and a partial wall added. Is that enough spacefor 4bunnies??Two seperat runaround systems are available to be attached.
If he won't bond I feel it's unfair to stick him out on his own. He loves humans and even gets on with the cats. I could always put a hole in the diversion wall I guess.

Re: Relaxed in my new temp? Space
Some rabbits just dont get on with others so it may be something to consider. I think if he wont bond and the rescue have no luck being and indoor bunny would be a fab idea for him!

Re: Relaxed in my new temp? Space
We have always had single buns and they have all been very happy. They have varied in the amount of direct physical contact they wanted but as far as social interaction they were content. For example Rory didn't like be touched much but he loved to play and be close. Guinness on the other hand loves cuddles and gives abundant kisses. The Holland mini lops we have had loved to be touched and cuddled. Coffee may love being with you and rule.

Re: Relaxed in my new temp? Space
Isn't he gorgeous, he certainly looks very relaxed. As to what to do I can offer no advice, if he is happy indoors then maybe let him stay. He is obviously enjoying and thriving in this environment. The flipside is will you always wonder if there was a perfect wife out there for him. Maybe talk to Alice at Windwhistle, she does know her bunnies really well and maybe will have a perfect partner in mind.
I am not much help I know. I am trying still to accept that the threesome is no more and sort out an alternative for Hollie.

Aww he certainly does look at home there! It's difficult making decisions about pairings and having to be prepared for things not working out. I hope you can reach a decision you feel happy with, but if he does end up being indoors, it doesn't look like he will consider it a compromise!

He looks very relaxed!
I don't think there's any harm taking your time to make a decision, he seems really content to be a house bun so there's no rush.

I totally agree with you Holly. Dougal is a single bun and he is a very happy loving chap too. He always bunny flops and binks tons , head binks and jumpy binkies a plenty and he always looks so relaxed.
i would have him inside as a single bun, as long as he gets plenty of attention and love which I can see he already does and can see he is the boss too . He will be fine and happy enough.
What gorgeous photos.

Thanks so much hoppers,
I have them out today and mean mum has swabbed.
Coffe is in the terrible two run and they have to put up in his. Still plenty of space and treats just to swab smells. No chance of fighting as howard is out there watching!
Now here is the proffesional photograph of the bun called Coffee!( I'm still not sure of the name but can't think of any better? Ideas welcome! He is agile and artistic and gentle- not to offend anyone. Sparky would have been suitable but is already taken.

Now renamed! Coffee is called Vernon!
A scholar, teacher, some French or Belgian ansastery that was it. Howard called him that for days and he....
Responded!
It is an old aristocratic name that came to England with the Normans.
Suits him like a handmade jacket

Re: Relaxed in my new temp? Space
Holly is peson loving bunny and we do not intend to get her a partner. The last escapade with Binky told us that but she does have us 24/7. Our little Holly is a house bun too.
