Indoor Hutches
Its been a while since I was here last – so I thought I would say HI!
But also, What do you guys think to indoor hutches? I am planning on buying Lucy a brand new cage. She currently has a large dog crate, but not having a hand at DIY I wouldn’t have a clue where to start on adding a second floor. I have tried and it was a disaster Plus I think the indoor hutches look pretty smart and they are a good size too. With this i am hoping to getting her spayed with a possibility of maybe a little friend.
Here is one I like: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Ferplast-Cot...r+rabbit+hutch
Or this one: http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00DI90PI2?psc=1
(Can't be any wider then these widths being inside)
If you know of any others that are a bit cheaper let me know.

Re: Indoor Hutches
Hi
I can't open the link for the first indoor hutch but I do like the second one and that's not a bad price as I have seen them for sale a lot dearer than that

I like the second one too - I am just not sure if it looks to outdoors also it hasn't got a floor.
Re: Indoor Hutches
We have seen the 'Cottage' ones and although they look nice we thought they were a bit smallish

Re: Indoor Hutches
Ah no the one I am looking at will be either 108 x 59 x h 102,5 cm or 129 x 68 x h 103,5 cm. There is a mini version but that is a bit to small.
Thanks! I will make her signature a bit smaller when i get a moment

Re: Indoor Hutches
what a cute bunny you have there, tiny bundle of cuteness.
I would go with that one too, the first one you put on that did not work at first then you got it to had a very bad review on amazon.
The second one looks nice.

Re: Indoor Hutches
What a wonderful fluffy bun you have love, I have just called Paul into have a look, he is adorable. Our bun is free range in the home so I cannot advise on indoor hutches.

Re: Indoor Hutches
They look nice but they are a little small if the bun will be shut in for any length of time, the RWAF recommends a minimum housing size of 6' x 2' x 2' (1.83m x 60cm x 60cm). Have you considered using a couple of puppy pens joined together or NIC panels (https://happyhoppers.forumotion.co.uk/t9700-nic-cubes-for-indoor-housing) to make a pen? These will be much less expensive and being flexible should allow a greater floor area. NIC panels can have shelves, we went down the puppy pen route (2 pens @ £40 each from Argos) and have a £5 ikea coffee table to give an extra level.

Re: Indoor Hutches
I also use the £5 IKEA coffee tables for upper levels - they work great and are easy to wipe clean etc.
I'd go with the advice above!

Re: Indoor Hutches
Not much else to say as see above. If it is as a retreat for the bun a feriplast cage will do and others than that free roam in the lounge when I'm out, changing to access of the house when I'm in.
