Wish Hollie luck
I have not been around on here much recently as life is a bit tricky at the moment between the problems caused by the fall out of the threesome and Chris's work related stress affecting him.
On the bunny front Hollie is now living separately from BJ and Rosie albeit in the hutch/shelf arrangement in their shed. I have been having to juggle time outdoors between them without allowing Rosie and Hollie to meet as they now will not tolerate each other if they have contact. BJ bless him keeps out of it and is still accepting of Hollie. I am just about coping with this arrangement at the moment but with an increase in work hours in August and then come winter I cannot keep this up indefinitely. So, it has been decided that Hollie is going to live as a house rabbit with my daughter Louise in her spare room. Hollie needs a partner though - she is not a people bun and has always been a great groomer/snuggler with other rabbits. However as Hollie is 7 we wanted to find her a potential partner of a similar age.
Gabriel's rescue has two boys in of this age so on Saturday I am driving Hollie down to Leicester so that she can hopefully bond with one of them whilst Louise is on holiday. If all goes well then I will fetch them next weekend prior to my holiday. So Hollie needs lots of vibes as she is a very stressy traveller which is worrying me and also vibes for an easy bonding. Her potential partner has always lived on his own despite his age so is a bit of an unknown quantity.
Any spare vibes would be great. I am not going to jinx things by showing a picture of Hollie's hopefully new husbun just yet.

Thank you all for Hollie's vibes, and for the hugs too Katie. Yes, we are having a crappy time, 2014 hasn't had much going for it.

Thank you all. We will be setting off at half twoish, I am hoping Hollie will go to sleep. She has had some Rescue Remedy in her water for the last few days and I will give her some on a treat later too.

Re: Wish Hollie luck
Hollie was not too badly stressed when I got to Leicester (took two hours and 20 minutes). She was breathing quite fast but started nibbling hay as soon as she was put in the cage which will be her home for the next few cage and was interested in her surroundings. I was very relieved by this.
Tomorrow she will meet her suitor - we both thought it better for her to have some time on her own to settle and maybe forget a little about BJ and Rosie before attempting bonding.
So the travel vibes seem to have worked, thank you all. I hope the bonding vibes work too.
All being well I will be going back down Thursday/Friday this week to bring them back.

Re: Wish Hollie luck
I would continue with the rescue remedy for both bunnies for the first few days or weeks after being introduced. Just put a few drops in their drinking water.

Re: Wish Hollie luck
Don't ask. I must have jinxed things by thinking Hollie would be no troubleKatieB wrote:How is she getting on.
She was fine for about a minute, she went straight over and groomed Bobbin. She then went into attack mode and became more and more aggressive. As Bobbin has never been with another rabbit he was initially shell shocked and then terrified at which point Jill separated them. There was no aggression on his side at all. I am bitterly disappointed and bemused by Hollie's behaviour. She has never instigated aggression before. I can only think the fall out with Rosie has meant she feels she needs to get the first bite in when potentially feeling threatened. Or bizarrely maybe Bobbin as a small agouti nethie reminds her of the baby wildie that caused all our problems.
I had a long chat with Jill last night. She is keen to see Bobbin rehomed due to his age and miserable life before going into a rescue. So therefore Bobbin and Hollie are going to return to Horwich and live alongside each other at Louise's. Hopefully in time we can try and bond them, and if this doesn't work at least they will have some bunny company.
All in all I am a bit fed up

Re: Wish Hollie luck
I'm sorry to hear Hollie was unimpressed with the little guy - bless him I bet he wondered what was going on.
I'm glad he has a loving home though even if Italy take a little time to be accepted as her husbun.
I wish they understood what is best for them
Wishing them both luck xxx
