Dr Finlay- U/D 12th September- HE'S GONE :-(
This morning I came downstairs to find Dr F somehow managed to get a back foot caught in Vetbed. He has ripped off a nail
I have cleaned him up, trimmed all the fur off the effected leg and put a dressing on. He is already on pain relief and he is now also on abx. Although he remains happy within himself and is eating very well, his back end has all but 'gone'
I am worried about leaving him alone at all now. His friend Esther is a very bouncey Bunny and has accidently knocked him over a few times in the past. I dont want to have to say goodbye to the dear old chap but neither do I want him to start to suffer.
Christabel (Vet) is calling me later to discuss things..................

Oh Dr F... lots of vibes coming your way. Your fellow old gent Chnace, had knocked a vase of flowers over in the night and soaked his bed area. He was found looking damp and forlorn this morning. What are you old bunsters like ey! The predicaments you get into.
Re: Dr Finlay- U/D 12th September- HE'S GONE :-(
oh dear. well at least at the moment he is sounding quite happy so is not miserable. Hope the vet has some promising ideas/thoughts.

Re: Dr Finlay- U/D 12th September- HE'S GONE :-(
I took Dr F and Esther to Christobel this morning. Dr F had eaten a huge breakfast and even managed to wobble about in their pen. He was also well hydrated, unlike yesterday.
Christobel gave him a thorough examination and whilst she agreed that his 3 strokes have left him very disabled she does not think he is suffering. She said something about him was telling her he is not ready to go just yet.
Of course I am relieved that I wont have to say goodbye today but I am also worried about him starting to 'feel' poorly. Christobel does not believe he feels at all ill at the moment.
I guess we just have to take one day at a time.............

Well that's brilliant news!
If he is not in any discomfort then you get to spend some more time with him
I know you'll keep a close eye on him Jane and as soon as he starts to flag you will be there for him.
Lots of hugs, this must be so difficult for you. A true bunny angel.
