Yes that's right. I sat With my new pair last night for 3 hours just watching them and nearly dropping off myself.Sixer wrote:Hello and welcome
Sebastian is gorgeous and sounds a very lucky and spoilt little man. I echo what has been said about neutering - it can be carried out as soon as his testicles drop , usually 12 weeks onwards. Give him a few weeks for his hormones to settle down then he will good to go to find a ladybun. You may find getting jobs done around the house becomes more difficult - I can waste a goodly amount of time just watching the bunnies being bunnies together!

Re: New To Happy Hoppers!
We've spent nearly all day today in the garden!! Phase One of changing Seb's accommodation complete. With Seb and my daughter happily in the run, we separated the run from the hutch. My husband made legs for the hutch and we placed it in a much more sheltered area of the garden.
Next job, fitting the 12ft tunnel from the hutch to the run. The pipe connector kits from The Welfare Hutch Company have clear instructions/template and OH found it easy to fit. Before long, a very happy Sebastian was using the tunnel frequently! We have watched him for hours today! He suddenly appears in the run to munch the grass and play and sneaks back along the tunnel for quiet time in his hutch. Job well done!
Phase Two.... within the next three months, we should have enough pennies to get our additional full height run. This will then be added by 4ft pipe/connectors to our existing set up.

Re: New To Happy Hoppers!
some things we have learned since Seb joined our family...
1) However many times you hoover up in a day, you will still always find a single piece of hay or straw bedding somewhere!
2) All family and friends now turn up with all their old newspapers and cabbage.
3) A rabbit is always your very best friend when you have cabbage! No cabbage - then he will pick and choose if your his best buddy today or not!
4) However much lovely hay and grass is available and however many lovely wooden toys and chew sticks you provide, he will still enjoy stripping wood from his hutch!
5) Perfect/mastered use of the litter tray (that makes you think "this is so easy") can suddenly change if your bunny feels like it and he wants you to work harder!
Lastly, none of this matters because a rabbit steals your heart from the outset. He is just the most beautiful, wonderful rewarding pet. He's just the sweetest and can do no wrong!!!!!!

Re: New To Happy Hoppers!
I totally agree with all of the above! hahaha
This has really made me smile.
- In my house when people turn up the first thing they say is "where's Daisy?"
- They don't bring food because the little beast looks at everything as if its an attempt to poison him
- He is partial to a fenugreek crunchy though (although it took 6 years for him to trust them)
tee hee

Re: New To Happy Hoppers!
Agree 100% with what Snowman posted. The truth lies within the fact of spreader hay if you only find one you are lucky enough. D.Layla will spread it all over in less tha two minutes. As for nibbling th3 hutch Bubbles has reduced one of hers down that I had to remove the screws as I thought she might injure herself on it. I now have to check occasionally they the building is still strong enough! Will need a new one soon.
