Re: Today's The Day...
Seb is more like himself today.. a friendly little chap. Everything is as it should be and he's a pooing machine. I have just taken him back to his hutch which is lined with newspapers and the soft blanket he had last night. Its all gone very well. He has his "after op" appointment next week to make sure he's healing well.

Re: Today's The Day...
He is back to his usual antics! Just checked his wound again, all looks fine/clean and healing. Do you think its to early to put "super soft straw bedding" back in his hutch? My main concern is the cold. Rather a chilly breeze here today so the hutch is remaining covered, but I would feel better if he had lots of bedding to keep warm in. Too soon?

Re: Today's The Day...
The only thing that puzzles me today....... before the op Seb wasn't really much of a urine sprayer and only once during daily cleaning has there ever been a trace of spray on the wall of his hutch. Today during the clean, there appears to be white spray marks all round his litter area, up the walls - haven't seen that before?? I was surprised, as I know some people neuter to combat this problem. We didn't really have this problem until today, 3 days after operation! What's going on!!? Is this normal!? Is it just because his hutch is "different", with a blanket etc??

Re: Today's The Day...
Hm - it could be that things are 'different'. Also it will take his hormone levels a few weeks to die down - he probably still feels like a 'full male' at the moment and has reached a point where he might have started to spray anyway. Even when neutered bunnies will still spray - BJ and Gabe will spray their partners if they are out in the garden and are feeling territorial, or each other if they can get close enough

Re: Today's The Day...
Oh PS. If his wound looks clean I would think it OK to put some straw back in, maybe with some hay mixed in as that is softer.

Re: Today's The Day...
They say it takes up to six weeks after neutering to become untire as a buck.
Plus if someone put you in a sleep and you waked up without balls, wouldn't you go for any means to establish you territory?
Give him time. Speak to your vet. Or us?
Sending lets get cool down vibes for Seb!

Re: Today's The Day...
It does take a while for things to settle hun, I had a kitty once and after he was neutered I was expecting him to suddenly change but it was a good few weeks before we saw any difference.

Re: Today's The Day...
Thanks all... I expected it to take time for things to settle down for Seb xx What I was surprised at; his hutch has always been really clean with hardly a trace of urine ever, then he has the op, returns to his hutch and its like he has used a high pressure paint sprayer in there!! Loads all over the place, never seen that before!!. I'm not bothered by it, I'm sure it will settle back down, just seemed odd that it started immediately after op. He's a happy little chap, so no worries

Re: Today's The Day...
Glad he is healing well Hun - I would say that soft straw and hay would be fine Hun, the temp seems to have dropped again do keeping warm needs to be a priority I'd say.
I agree with Sixer, he is maybe just getting used to things Hun xx
