A Start
I have been working with a pet store to change the life of a bunny while there, some changes were made, he needs a couple more, when I asked about hay for him , the girl said he gets some in the morning only because he's to messy
l've also been in touch with Kristens Kritters newspaper, she is interested in doing an article on bunnys
Lastly Oasis Rescue is interested in an article from me, (not what l had in mind) l wanted to work with them getting the word out to potencial owners buying from pet stores what is involed with our furry family
Fingers Crossed

Re: A Start
Well. Done Judy!
Thanks for getting involved.
A pet store doesn't give hay to bunnies because it is to messy?
We have got the RWAF ( Rabbit Welfare Association and Fund) check their website there are flyers and other things to download. Maybe you could take some leaflets to the shop. I can also send material if you can't access the site. Hoomins defenatley need educating!

Re: A Start
It's a great thing your trying to do and, I guess, quite hard work. If you cannot get professional lists had you thought of making your own list of "Bunny Do's and Don'ts"? One for the pet shop and copies for them to give out to buyers. Point out the good things on the list that could be bought from the store (a potential sale always heightens interest). Point out that hay sales could increase if it's importance in rabbit diet is emphasised. Maybe add the details of good bunny books to the list.

I have met someone with a bunny sanctuary, I'm buying the bunny & taking him to her, her place is a bunny haven, I'm sure he will be happy there until he finds a forever home

Re: A Start
It all went well and I have passed so I'm now able to provide manual handling training.
The venue (a hotel) wasn't to great and I did the right thing to stay at Katie B's overnight where I met all the bunnies too. Just to avoid bunny withdrawl symptoms. The boiler in the hotel broke in the middle of the night and they haven't had hot water in the morning.
I was so well looked after by the B Warren and we had a lovely evening with the most delicious chicken curry I had for a long time!

Re: A Start
Well the little bun is in his forever home as she Kelli doesn't part with them, I guess it was meant to be, right from the moment I heard about her I had a good feeling, she & her mom are wonderful & she has a great setup for the bunnys
The pet store wouldn't take less, no surprise there, but I'm happy & I'm sure the bun will be too once he settles in
now on to the next, my friends granddaughters forgotten bunny.
My Bunny Boy is going to be in the local paper, Kristens Kritters called today, she was delighted to talk to an owner, she asked lots, I gave lots, & she wants pics, she asked if I had any, what a question.
I put an ad on kijiji saying think before you buy, kijiji is a buy & sell anything site, & I have typed up an article for the pet stores
Now I'm pooped, long nerve racking day
