Henry is very well now, Thank You.
Yes, very well indeed.
It's been dull but muggy here today. I did a stint in the garden this afternoon; tidying the hedge and cutting back a couple of spring flowering shrubs (big ones). I was all hot and sticky and crazed by flies when I finally packed in and came inside for a bath. And guess who joined me ... IN THE BATH?
I had run a tepid bath, not very deep, because I wanted to cool off and get that tingling fresh feeling that cool baths give. I was semi reclined and relaxed with my eyes half shut when .... WHAM! He landed right on my tum. I screamed and he was scrabbling and struggling. He instantly realised he had made a whopping great boo-boo and was trying to jump out. I THINK I picked him up, lifted him out.... I hope I did, but it was all very confusing and happened so fast; I may have hurled him out! No, somehow I managed to pop him out over the side of the bath and he vanished with wheels spinning and water flying.
I grabbed a towel and struggled after him (I'm not as nimble getting in and out of the bath as I used to be). He was in his litter tray, madly grooming himself. I bundled him in the towel and spent ten minutes drying him. It was lucky I was having a pre-bath cool off and hadn't put anything in the water; so it was just plain water he had on him.
When I set him free, after slicking his fur with a soft brush, he raced off and hid under my desk. It took him two hours before he came out and another hour before he acknowledged my existence .... he blamed me of course.
And me? Well, I'm very sore tonight, I have a number of scratches, some quite nasty, across my midriff and tum and four very painfully tender ones on my right boob. I stink of Savlon, which he doesn't approve of either.
Oh, the joys of rabbit ownership.

Sorry you are sore love and I can imagine he has given you a few nasty scratches but I am afraid I had a bit of a giggle too, I hope I am forgiven. I can just imagine you and he when he landed on you and all the panic and water everywhere. Does he just launch himself without knowing where he is going to land? Of course he is going to blame you the little monkey, it cannot possibly be his fault can it LOL? Hope you heal quickly.

Re: Henry is very well now, Thank You.
Any injury sustained while handling a rabbit is the hoomins fault, only they are to blame for not wearing a protective suit, knowing what bunny will do next, and generally getting it wrong. Lol.
So from another humum to you.......
Healing and anti sore vibes and to Henners be good vibes or whas it the other way around?

Re: Henry is very well now, Thank You.
My bathroom is downstairs and living alone I rarely close the door (all that's changed now). I just make sure the outer doors are locked an the bathe. I have arthritis in my lower spine and hips and getting in and out of the bath can be painful so I have one of those one-step stools; Henners must have hopped on the stool and then tried to hop onto the bath rack, that, of course, skidded away and in he came.
There was only a couple of inches of water, max. But his reaction to water is like.... well, a teaspoonful that's not in his drink dish is like Niagara Falls.
He's over it now but I'm still very tender in places.
Maybe I should invest in a wet suit!

OMG only henry would do this - little monkey!
He will think twice before doing that again.... lol
Hope you are ok and not too sore, although I suspect he thinks he is the one who came off worse!

Re: Henry is very well now, Thank You.
I'm not too sore now, just one scratch is still tender, the deepest one that catches my right nipple.
Henry has behaved himself beautifully since. Tonight he sat beside me and it being a chilly night, and me in shorts, I wrapped a fleece blanket round my legs and he crept under it and snored away merrily for nearly an hour. He really is such a lovely friend.
I love him to pieces.

Oh sweetie, I didn't realise he caught you on the nipple, that is so painful and I hope it heals up very soon. I know what that is like. Yes, you still love them no matter what they do. Holly knows this and takes full advantage LOL!!

Thumper: Wanna Bet? I caught him last night with his paws up on the edge of the bath trying to peer in. I think he would if the could!
The doors firmly shut when I'm having a soak though.
