Re: Hoppy Halloween
We have a 'lodger' in our front garden at the moment. He came to stay back in July 'for 4 weeks' while his owners (my brother in law & family) sorted out moving house and going on holiday. They still havt got round to sorting living quarters out for him in thier new house so he is still in his temporary home in our front garden, so he had to have representation for Halloween.

Re: Hoppy Halloween
He's lovely Jo, hes so sweet, its a shame he is male, or i could get him and my Dillon together. I dont know how long he will stay, i sort of hope he will go home before Christmas, but then again i am quite happy with him here. I am working on his parents to negotiate a good space for him. So far they are thinking of building upwards in a log storage space with ramps and shelves, which will be under cover and lovely as he does like climbing, but i am still trying to negotiate a few feet out front for him to play in on the flat as well - a bit of binky space as it were . I keep telling them how he loves to run around his small run here and do his hop skip and jumps, so hopefully they will allow an extension for him.
Its going to be a few more weeks yet i would think anyway, but as i say i am happy with him, but his 4 y/o hoomin keeps asking me when im bringing him back... the answer is when Daddy has built a home for him!

It sounds to me as if you are happy with each other love, he does sound an adorable bunny. Any chance of your keeping him? Everything crossed for that extension though.

Re: Hoppy Halloween
He is adorable, when i go out with food in the evening he does a little happy dance , but i have to deliver food and am not allowed to fuss him when he wants to eat. Fuss is any other time, but not food time.
The cats like him too, they sit around on top of his run just chilling out with him. I doubt i will be able to keep him, i expect he will go home at some point, but i will miss him when he goes.
Mind you, we are planning on using his little run as temporary accommodation for Dillon while we refurbish his run, would add complications if he stayed

C, we do all sorts of weirdness at Halloween. We have bodys. coffins, hands that look like the're coming out of the ground, 'bloody' handprints on the door... lol
Re: Hoppy Halloween
How lovely to see a picture of Temperance in a hat. We will all really miss her. No one could carry off a hat quite like she could.

Cats and bunnies often do get on, ours play together. When we have our visiting bun when her mum goes away, she will sit with our cat too, it is lovely.

Re: Hoppy Halloween
yes, ive always had both cats and rabbits, so they have all grown up with each other. Whenever i get a new rabbit the cats all want to meet them and get to know them and will 'introduce' themselves. can sometimes be quite funny when rabbits are not used to cats! I will dig some pictures out at some point to show you.
Haha! she does look quite composed there Katie

Re: Hoppy Halloween
Just had a scroll through on this thread to catch up.... that bunny pumpkin is great! I can't help wondering if it would have any kind of influence on Henry! And I think all buns should have the Police tape in evidence round their quarters!
As for inter-species relationships ... Clawed had a great relationship with Misty, my border collie and really kept her in line. And in turn Misty had a great relationship with Bonnie, our wild rabbit neighbour and with Sylph, my wild muntjac friend. Both went for walks with us and had no fear of Misty.

Re: Hoppy Halloween
I had a border collie/lurcher cross that used to help me round the rabbit up to come in in the evenings.
He came to me from a friend who had to go abroad with her husbands work, and had never met a rabbit before. His first experience was of a rabbit charging out from behind the sofa like a steam train! After that he had great respect and used to help me with rabbits, was quite confused the first time he smelt rabbits out on a walk having got to know our rabbit, i think he thought he needed to get rabbit back home!

Yes... there's something of General Woundwort in many rabbits. Clawed used to terrify the local gamekeepers dogs, and Misty was well and truly under the grey paw.
