Re: Henry's nose UPDATE.
Over the twenty-four hours since we were at the vets, Henry as had no antibiotics and only 0.3 of Loxicom this morning.
He has eaten about 3/4 his usual amount of pellets, showing a slight favouring of the hard ones over the unsoaked, ones. He's also eaten some hays both soft meadow hay and his fave mix of Oat/Wheat/Barley.
His poops this morning were better and more in number than yesterday. And he did have some nosing around to do as well.
As well stopping the Baytril I've stopped nebulising him, his breathing sounds okay. But to be on the safe side I have put some F10 in my humidifier and I'm running that in the sitting room where the air gets so warm and dry. I thought it might help prevent his nose flaring up again.
I shall see how he is in the morning and if he is no worse than this morning then I shall phone the vet and discuss giving him a day or two more to see how he goes along. I don't want him to have another GA if he looks like it's not tooth roots and he might recover by himself.
He's certainly giving me some headaches.

Re: Henry's nose UPDATE.
Well the chat with the vet....
I detailed Henry's weekend and his day today. Richard felt that because he is eating pellets (hard and soft) and course hay that there is no tooth problem of any kind. And after batting a few ideas to and fro he suggested I take him off the Loxicom (he went off Baytril on Sat) and get him meds free and see how he is after a couple of days. He wonders if he has been having a bad reaction to either the antibiotics or the Loxicom, or the combination of the two.
So its med free Henry now and fingers crossed.
I've stopped nebulising him as that contained elements of stress and I'm now running my humidifier in the sitting room with some F10 in it, that way he gets to breathe moister air and get some antiseptic in his nose, plus it's stress free and it's quieter. Also my poor nose gets the benefit as well and it may help ward of my winter rhinitis.

Re: Henry's nose UPDATE.
He was bad yesterday so we put him back on Loxicom (0.7ml) and today he seems . easier. He's still having a "down" day but he is RELAXED. That is something he most definitely wasn't before. Last night we agreed to try the Loxicom until Fri. then, according the results, have him in for X-rays... skull and full body.
But today he is off but relaxed.

I think I would go down the x-ray route too.woodwench wrote:He was bad yesterday so we put him back on Loxicom (0.7ml) and today he seems . easier. He's still having a "down" day but he is RELAXED.
