Wet nose UD 31/08 pm, not eating
Took Temperance and MJ to the vets a few weeks back for manicures, vet weight them at the time and noticed that T had lost 300g. Her vacc was due a few weeks later so we decided to keep an eye on her and review again when she went back for vacc. I'd noticed occasionally before that she sometimes had a wet nose but as it was occasional I assumed it was from drinking. I've been giving her a few barley rings a day for some extra calories but I've noticed since the vet visit that her nose has been wet a lot more often.
She was in for her vaccinations earlier in the week and she hasn't lost any more weight (she has put on 5g), the vet had a look in her mouth and noticed something a bit out of the ordinary (he described it as a slightly different coloured patch) and that there was a small amount of blood in her mouth (I've never noticed any blood before).
So she's booked in to the vet next week (appt weds, so dropping them off tues night) so he can get a proper look under anaesthetic and take x-rays if necessary. She's eating fine, and she seems to be feeling fine but I figure its best to get it looked at sooner rather than later.
in summary: wet nose, slight weight loss, otherwise happy. Wish us luck!

Could it be her teeth maybe?

From what the vet could see her teeth are fine, but he'll get a better look under anaesthetic and they also have a digital x-ray machine so he can x-ray her roots if necessary.

Re: Wet nose UD 31/08 pm, not eating
vet phoned a short while ago, unfortunately she has a tumour running the length of her molars. It is bleeding a lot (when touched) and they do not have the equipment to stop the bleeding should they attempt to remove it, they have said they can refer me to another local practice who deal a lot with rabbits and do have the equipment or the vet school. She also said we could leave it however ultimately it will start to cause problems eating and such like and its probably at that point that it would be too late to remove it, also on the basis that she was fine at her last check up at the start of the year they think it is fast growing.
Just waiting on the vet to call back with the estimate for taking her to the vet school.

Re: Wet nose UD 31/08 pm, not eating
Thanks guys, thankfully she's perfectly happy in herself.
The vet called with the estimate from the vet school, we can afford it but it is more than i expected. I called the RWAF to get a list of recommended practices in my area and the girl on the phone when I told her where we were said we are lucky as there is actually a recommended rabbit specialist near us, one of only 12 in the country she said (although it may not be any less costly as she's just set up a practice). So she's given my the contact details for the specialist and I'll contact her on Monday.
eta: just to be clear, Temperance will be getting the treatment. However, if we can get it for less from a RWAF recommended specialist then thats a bonus.

Great news that you have a specialist so near by!
I knew before I got to the "eta" bit of your post that she was getting the treatment
Please keep us posted.

Good luck with the treatment love, please give her a kiss from her auntie Jo Jo. I may be mistaken but I think our closest bunny specialist vet is in Exeter. Warm top up healing vibes are on their way.
