Got the buns a pressie
So I've been thinking about it for a while, and MJ was at the vets for his RHD2 vacc last week and they found that he's lost a bit of weight (down to 1.8kg) so I decided just to go for it and I got the buns a heat mat.
I was fully prepared for them to completely ignore it, as they do with pretty much everything else I get them
So it arrived today and as its a sunday we're off work so the buns are out all day so I put it under the table where they usually spend their time (it has a chew proof cable thats long enough to reach under the table which is good!) and within a short while both buns were on it!! This was a few hours ago, they've been away from it since but I just went and checked and MJ is on it again
This is the one I got: https://smile.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B005QYNCT6/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02__o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
The box also included a small bottle of pet remedy spray and some pet remedy wipes

Re: Got the buns a pressie
Glad they are enjoying it. I had one for Reboot when he was poorly. He loved it too but I found the temperature control a bit iffy, it was all or nothing, so I took mine back to the shop and got a replacement. That worked fine but I had to make a cover for it to stop my boy taking a nibble round where the cable enters the mat; a loose cover wasn't enough.
I think you paid a lot for it; mine was £21-99 from my local pet shop (a small family business, not a chain store either).

Our only local pet store is pets at home, where the same heat mat is £40. I've not found anything cheaper with a chew proof cable.
This one doesn't have heat settings, its on a low heat all the time but can be left on. Has 2 thermostats so should never over heat.
Mine is wrapped up in a pillow case with another pillow case folded in half on top of it as the mat itself can (and will!) be chewed.
I see them on it regularly so definitely glad I bought it

Yes, Reboot loved it. And it is the exact same pad. It's two thermostat made me think of heat settings.
I made a fleece cover for Reboots.
Nothing like seeing a happy, comfy bun is there?

Jo, just set it up in a secure spot of your choosing and leave it for her to discover and then, perhaps, if she doesn't look too interested shoo her away and make out its out of bounds .... she'll want it then. A bit of reverse-psychology can often go along way in training rabbits
