How much to donate to rescue for bonding?
The dilemma is, I've just booked two bunnies in to a rescue for bonding. I know it's appropriate to give a donation for the bonding but I don't know what a reasonable amount would be.
From what I've read about bonding there could be quite a bit of time involved, including unsociable hours.
I'm kind of working on the idea of £50 - £60 - does that sound about right? Much as I'd really like to give more I'm fairly skint but want to give what I think to be fair (then maybe give another donation when I've more funds!)
What does anybody think? I'd be particularly interested to hear from the side of the rescuers/helpers who do the bonding.
Thanks in anticipation.

Re: How much to donate to rescue for bonding?
I think thats perfectly reasonable. I sometimes do bonding for BARC (for potential adopers where one rabbit belongs to BARC) and in that case the bonding is covered by the adoption fee. This is less that the donation I would expect for bonding two non-rescue bunnies because in the first situation the rescue is seeing a bun of it's own go out to a good home.
Most rescues wont push an attempted bond past 7 days but that is still an awful lot of time and energy. The average successful bond takes 3-5 days with constant supervision normally required for the first 36 if not 48 hours.

Thanks. I did get one of the bunnies from the rescue in question only about 3 months ago, intending him to be a single houserabbit... then fell for another bunny (like you do), so if it all works out they get to see 'one of their own' rabbits happily bonded.
