We rescued a bunny: Jasper
He has been there for ages so we (for 'we' read 'I') took pity and brought him home. I will get some pics but he is a bit like a Dutch - black with a white 'saddle' across his front legs, white toes and a white nose :luv:
Please don't shout mum

Re: We rescued a bunny: Jasper
yes.
I am sad to say it is a little man from a pet shop who has been there for months. He was the only guy left and has been for a while.
I know it does no good to buy from pet shops but this guy was in but if I can change the world for one (ok, five) little rabbit...
I am very conflicted about the fact that I bought him from there but all the cute baby ones go in a heartbeat. I fear the brown bunny I spoke of before got sold to either KFC next door or the chinese restaurant on the other side I just can't see how she would have been overlooked for months and miraculously sold the minute I decide to go look for her.
He is settling in well. Hazel has had a few scuffles with him but she'll argue with anything. He is very timid bless him (not surprising from being stuck in a tiny indoor cage (outdoors in the heat) with two guinea pigs (they were the tiniest things I've ever seen - must have been 3 inches long nose to bum) with no shelter and a wire floor. But he is doing ok. Has had a sniff about. He is even smaller than Bob

Re: We rescued a bunny: Jasper
Ah, you absolutly did the right thing. I have seen one in our local pet shop that has been there for months and he is quite big too. Its heartbreaking I know.
Yours is a very lucky rabbit now and I am sure he will settle in a treat.
Go On You!!

Re: We rescued a bunny: Jasper
Hazel has been having a go at him this morning. The Brunei Buns are outside while Nerie is cleaning. Littlebun is in his carrier for the time being. I am going to try bonding in the bathroom.
Here he is:

Re: We rescued a bunny: Jasper
Oh my, he's a stunner :luv: I would have done the same Helen, I can't think why he wasn't snapped up TBH. When I was in France we stopped off for a coffee and there was a garden centre with buns. There was one chap in a tiny cage under a light, very hot and bothered. When we called in on the way back, 10 days later, he was still there, looking very distressed. If I hadn't been about to fly, he'd have been in my bag for sure. Sometimes our thoughts of the right thing mean that little lives like him are left to suffer, I can't bear it either.
He's so cute, I can't stop looking at him

Re: We rescued a bunny: Jasper
LOL Well he's very frightened of Hazel. I'm not surprised - she's twice his size at least lol.
I have them in the bathroom at the mo as every time she goes near him he legs it so she chases him.

Re: We rescued a bunny: Jasper
He is such a looker! No wonder you snapped him up. He will just have to bat those beautiful eyes at Hazel a few times and she will see what a babe she has for a husbun. Silly girl she should be delighted.

I agree - there's a definite look in his eye that reminds me of my Bella - I think he's going to be great fun
He's lovely Helen and I don't blame you at all for rescuing him. He's gorgeous :luv:

Re: We rescued a bunny: Jasper
and whats more - the pet shop has started selling HAY!!!!
thank god. it is half decent as well so no more astronomical postage fees from the UK
He is in surprisingly good nick for an abused bunny but I suppose all the others were too. It never ceases to amaze me that rabbits who have nothing but unlabelled 'home made' pellets and nothing else can have such nice teefs!

Re: We rescued a bunny: Jasper
Well technically I am funding the breeding of more little buns... But I couldn't just leave him there. The amount of times I'd walked past him and the brown bun
