How to stop water bottles freezing!

Tried and Tested, has worked 2 nights in a row!

You Will Need, Jiffy Bag, Scisscors, Material, Thick Selotape, the strongest u have! Or string

Step one: Get an old Jiffy bag that has bubble wrap inside

Step Two: Cut open the jiffy bag so it is just a sheet of bubblewrapped paper

Step Three: Cut the jiffy bag to the correct size against your bottle (varied for differenty sized bags and bottles of course! i barely needed to cut mine!)

Step Four: cut some material (any, thicker the better) to the same size as your Jiffy Bag

Step Five: Selotape your material to the cut jiffy bag

Step Six: Wrap the jiffybag around the bottle, and secure usuing either selotape, or string. Do at the top and bottom, not the middle, easier to slide on and off that way!

Voila!!

Will make one tomorrow and take piccies to add to step by step!

I've just wrapped all mine in thick bubble wrap, this is the first time they have ever frozen!

What a great idea! Although mine are all inside, so I don't have to worry about frozen water bottles

where are these blue peter type piccies then SJ?

I haven't been able to blue peter as such but I just put one of my black socks round Johns water bottle so hopefully it will work. I also filled again with lukewarm water to help.

He got hutch cover, car blanket and another blanket over as I worry about him getting cold even though he spends all day in the garden and doesn't appear to be at all bothered about the freezing cold! I think I worry too much!

well i did the sock.. it didn't work i think the drip froze up and then rest of water cos right at the top of the bottle the water was fine! hmm may have to scout around for a jiffy bag

A sock alone did it for us in -7 weather :o)
