You can buy 'Freeze dried grass' and use that in the Winter months or 'Redigrass' or sow some grass seeds in a seed tray and grow some on a window sill.

I've just bought some Timothy Meadow grass seed to sow from the Hay Experts.

Overlooking the last winter, it has not really got cold enough (at least not here in the south west) for the grass to stop growing completely through the winter so don't panic too much.

I just give them more hay and even though the grass isn't actively growing, there is still grass around that they can eat.

Grass may have been growing in Cornwall throught last winter but the only thing growing here in Lincolnshire were the icicles... it was -20 every night throughtout December and not much warmer for the rest of the winter.

Lil Loll had plenty of hay... he won't touch freeze dried, Readigrass etc but he was quite happy. When the fresh grass came in March he didn't go overboard for it, still prefering his hay.

Daisy just has hay in the winter when the grass is rubbish. Sometimes i can find some good bits and bobs, but mainly he just has the Hay.

Yeah, I'm wondering about that too! Because, in Norway, it tends to get COLD and very SNOWY at winter. Last year I gave my babies herbs. But I was thinking about buying some "grow your own"-thingy at the pet-store.... maybe I'll buy from the Hay Experts. Those are the fellas that sells Oxbow, right?

I would either just give hay or you can grow grass in little pots, but mine don't suffer, i can still pick them some from the garden just not as often, but they dont seem to mind
