How big are your buns??
So I've been trying to work out what breed my bun is because I got him from the RSPCA when he was already 5 and his dics just said "lop". I have been describing him to various pet shop owners (bet they love me and want nothng more than to hear about the size of my rabbit!) and they think he must be a dwarf lop. Now before, not knowing much about rabbits I had also associated the term "dwarf" with Netherland dwarf sixed rabbits but I am now told that dwarf lops are quite big with full size lops being the size of small dogs.
My bun is about the same size as my cat (but with shorter legs ) and my cat is pretty big so I am on a quest now to know where he (the rabbit) came from. I had never seen one coloured like him when I frist saw him but have since seen on here that he is not quite so unique as I'd like to have believed.
So - how big are your buns a& what breed are they? This shouldhelp me to identify him I think. And also is there just "dwarf lop" as a breed or are there different types of dwarf lop too?? I am a little clueless really but am a good bunny mummy I promise.

Re: How big are your buns??
Well I have a large up eared bun that looks like a cross between a giant and a dutch lol! That is Lily, (left in pic) And a medium sized lop who lives with her called Sandy (right in pic). These two really are big rabbits. They are bigger, bodywise than my cats. I would say Lily is the size of a West Highland Terrier.
Then I have an English bun who I would say is medium sised, called Chance
Then I have Buddabun;s two bunnies on foster, they are Brian a sumptuous grey Rex,
And Charlie who is a mini lop, he is tiny. Pictured here with his late wife Jack who was a Netherland Dwarf, which should give you some idea of what a small lop he is.
Post some piccies of yours and lets see!

Re: How big are your buns??
I would have said your rabbit is a french lop or french lop cross if he's the same size as your cat!
I have 2 giants, and I would say theyre about the same size as westies too!

Re: How big are your buns??
I have a lionhead cross lop. She is a big girl and weighed about 4lbs when I went to the vets last time.
Wolfie is much smaller and I think he might have nethie in him although his ears aren't as short, but he has the short little face - and the cheeky nature.

I have a Mini Rex who looks big in photos, but is actually quite dinky. He weighs 2.3 Kg, and at full stretch is about 11 - 12"

Re: How big are your buns??
I have got some pictures of him now but I' don't know how to put them on here. I tried just copy & pasting it but that didn't work. I'll just change my avatar thingy instead for now. Can anyone tell me how to paste pictures please. They are just saved in my emails at the moment.

Re: How big are your buns??
I have a mini lop and a mini rex and both are just under the 2kg mark. But might be a little bit heavier now, I've let them get a bit fatter for the winter!

Thank you! I've managed to get them on phtobucket but they're too big and when I previewed my message his head had come off!
I cna't re-size them on photobucket because I can only go on the computer at work and we don't have flash player 10 and I can't install it and I can't do it on paint on the pc cos the picture is so big it takes the new dimensions from the top right hand corner so all you can see is a bit of my mitchen floor!!
I give up! I will try again another day, hopefully I will have a computer coming my way soon and can do it at home!
I took him to the vet yesterday tho for his free bunny week health check & they have confirmed he's a dwarf lop, possibly crossed with a french lop and that what determines whether or not it's a dwarf is the size ofits ears? And he has quite small ears really so we will go with that. He's 3kg tho so not that small (in my opinion!)

Re: How big are your buns??
You can resize your photo's when you upload them by choosing reduce to 640 x 480 (large)
If it still doesn't work after that then CTRL + F5 will 'refresh' your page so the recently uploaded image will appear rather than the previously uploaded image which may still be within the cache memory.

I have two female dwarf lops who are 7 months old.

They seem big to me and even hubby wondered if they really were dwarf (probably about 1/2 the size of my 8 year old cat)
