Rabbits Rescued Dreadful Place Pics Buns post 6

The RSPCA asked me to take some rabbits..we are full but they were desperate so I agreed to take 6
How glad was I that I could help when I saw where they were taken from







This is what some awful breeders find acceptable
The lovely inspector who brought them to me allowed me to download the pics while she was here as she wants people to see what can happen when people who don't know what they are doing or don't care..take on too many animals

The rabbits have extremely long nails, some have bites on their genitals and a couple are overweight

That is just dreadful - there are no words to describe how miserable those poor animals must have been. Thank goodness they are safe now. I hope that those people are never allowed to have care of any other animals, but I know that it is such a difficult thing to police and they can just go off and do it again.

Those conditions are quite horrific I feel really tearful seeing that. Poor wee souls. Sleep tight little bunny.

The bun which was put to sleep had been left unt treated for so long..and her lungs were full of fluid

That is absolutely revolting, reminicent of the time BARC took some RSPCA bunnies from hutches where the floors had rotted out only to leave a solid surface of feaces behind.

Is there are chance of a prosecution?

I do hope the other bunnies can make a full recovery.

I cannot believe the state of those cages that is just beyond shocking but I was expecting to see a very sorry bunch indeed. They are really beautiful buns

The rabbits were surprisingly clean..a couple have urine stained feet

but their nails were sooooo long and as said ..they all have syphallis...not much muscle on them either and Viola is fat

and just to add..we do not put to sleep easily..despite her looking fit in the picture she was in a very sorry state

Don't worry I'm sure noone is questioning your judgement. Noodle had a lot of fluid in his lungs towards the end and I saw how much distress it caused him. I have no doubt you did the right thing

OMG I cannot believe the state of those so called living quarters?!?!?!? Jill you are truly an angel. How can people treat another living creature like that? I hope something can be done about the owner.

I hope the others are settling in OK and are appreciative of their new found luxury. Mary is so beautiful and Viola has the most incredible eyes :luv:

That just made me physiaclly shudder, I don't know what to say except I'm so glad they are not there now. that's horrendous

Nettle was the one struggling over night but has picked up
Poor Mary has the worst ulcers on her genitals and is probably in the most discomfort.(she also smells awful).hence why she is a bit aggressive but who can blame her

Healing vibes for all of these poor bunsters. I hope they recover soon and find loving new homes.

Poor little things. They look surprisingly good, although I know they probably look better than they really are.

I hope the person who put them through that hell gets prosecuted cos what they were doing is a disgrace.

I have spoken with the inspector again today and sadly two rabbits which were taken to another rescue have had to be put to sleep too
The others are receiving treatment..so fingers crossed they all make it

Some good news

When giving Mary her metacam today I checked her underneath and her nasty swelling has gone down..I'm so pleased it was about a third of the size it was and isn't as inflamed..she must feel so much better

Oooh don't tell her! 'SHE' looked so sad in her photo with her wee eyes closed. Glad that she is feeling better. They must think they are in heaven now after the state of those hutches. They looked more like pigeon coops than rabbit hutches with all that white poo.

I won't tell her and will try and get some better pics of her so you can see how pretty she is
