My Foster Bun Grace R.I.P Binky Free

I know I haven't been on much lately but I have been very busy with bunnies but I am here today to say good bye to one of my foster buns Grace. She came to me after being in RSPCA care since Aug 07 and having no luck with re-homing her she came to my mad house for us to try. Two weeks ago I was telling Charlotte how she is doing really well and is ready for re-homing when I noticed she had a swollen eye. She was taken to the vets and put on a course of jabs, eye creams and oral antibiotics she put up with me for two weeks doing this to her. After taking her back to the vet yesturday we were advised to get it operated on as it was re-occuring. So this morning my daughter got Grace all ready and we dropped her off.

I had the dreaded phone call this evening to say it was worse than they thought as the ulser had spread to her brain and she would only have a few weeks with us if we were very lucky. I feel so **** as we miss her so much I was the one to tell the vets to let her sleep and not wake her up I couldn't put her through it. I bought her back to her home and we all said our goodbyes with her in our arms cuddling her praying and watching as her sole left us. She binkyed free round my daughter's bedroom and has left a huge gap for such a little bun even if she did go for me whenever I went to give my daughter a kiss goodnight. She will be missed loads she has been laid to rest in the back of my garden under a Weeping Willow where she will always be close to us and she can keep an eye on us all.

I am sorry for going on but I can truly say this has been the hardest day to cope with comforting a 9 year old greaving for a well love friend. Grace we all LOVE and MISS You.

That is so sad. I hope that you both aren't sad for too long. She was a lucky bun to have found you.
