Alfalfa???
Just wondered what people know about feeding alfalfa to bunnies. Is it okay?
I usually give my guinea pigs alfalfa in the winter and have on occasions given the buns a little bit just to try, they have eaten it but didnt seem really keen on it.
Is it okay for them, or is it too high in calcium?

Re: Alfalfa???
I seem to think Alfalfa is fine for young growing bunnies or those struggling to maintain weight but is not ideal for adult bunnies as part of their regular diet. As you say it is high in calcium and also has a higher calorie/energy value than hay.
It is fine as a treat though
