Bunny and Kitty bonding day 5
Mr. Magoo and Mitzy made first contact today, as opposed to just sniffing and running/hopping away. I was replying to Happy Hoppers posts and turned to see Mitzy on top of Magoo eating his head! I know how alarming that sounds, but Mitzy is absolutely tiny but still was quite worrying. Mr. Magoo just sniffed her madly and then hopped off. A while later Mitzy tried again and this time she had a little swipe with her paw at Mr. Magoo. He just sniffed on. I've recently trimmed Mitzy's claws so she can't do any damage and she is in no way being malicious. She's just learning and playing. Mr. Magoo is huge in comparison so I'm hoping he can defend himself against something a quarter of his size.
I just hope they form a bond together.

I am sure they will! Sounds like you have a perfectly normal playful kitten!

They're doing ok now:) They seem to be playing nicely. Mitzy tries to play and then Mr. Magoo binky's in the air and they run around.

Re: Bunny and Kitty bonding day 5
Our cats don't really worry about the rabbits either way, there is a mutual understanding of 'if you leave me alone, I'll leave you alone'. Lexie has been known to have a grump at them before now though, especially if they try to use her litter tray.
The only exception is with Juno, I suspect due to her being tiny and also disabled but I am convinced they can also tell she is 'different' and they will harass her if the chance presents itself....so they are not allowed out together.

I think what seems alarming is when I see Mitzy acting in a predatory way, i.e. creeping up behind Mr. Magoo and crouching low and wiggling her bum getting ready to pounce! cos it reminds me how it would be in the wild. Although Mitzy's ambitions are bigger than her, bless her, she tries to pounce but usually bumps into things or only makes it about an inch in front of her
Re: Bunny and Kitty bonding day 5
She would probably do that to a puppy too though, just because it was remotely her size and moving! She will learn fine.

Re: Bunny and Kitty bonding day 5
They're getting on great now Mr. Magoo sticks his head out to Mitzy and she leaps on him and starts biting! and he just lays there while the kitty just licks and nips him playfully. Then they chase each other around the room. It's adorable to watch. I think they've become firm friends...
