I love the oldies, they are so special, I lost my beautiful Harvey (REW) last year and he was 11
and Harriet his partner died recently and she was 9.5 to 10 years old

Re: Dolly and Dougal
Well, he came to us from a lady who'd gotten him for her three year old grandson The lady had gone to a dispicable breeder (bred everything she could including horses , dogs, guineas, cats ... everything! (as an aside, this breeder used to take horses in for boarding some of which she sold without the owners knowing ). The lady had spotted Bear in a wire pet carrier on the ground , this was where he was kept in all weathers She asked if he was available and the breeder said she'd take £3 for him cos he was a waste of space Bear's testicles hadn't decended and therefore she didn't breed from him cos she thought he was sterile.
The lady took him home to her grandson, he was petrified of Bear so she brought him to us. He was covered in poo, his back legs were deformed from being confined to such a small space for so long. Jim decided he needed a good strong name so he was thereafter known as Bear. We cleaned him up and housed him in a tris in one of our spare rooms. The first time we let him out, he attempted a binky but his back legs got all tangled up and he landed in a heap. He never did binky like a normal bun.
At that time I had no idea on how to look after an angora and Adele offered to take him if we were sure he was sterile. We booked him in for an exploritory at the vet and they discovered two tiny baked bean sized testicles which were whipped out there and then.
Adele integrated him into a group with some of her other angoras and he lived there quite happily till he went to the bridge.
If I had my time all over again, I would never have parted with him

Awwwwwwww Lynda, that is so sad, don't they come in with some horrendous stories, I cannot understand how anyone could breed like that, it's just all about the money, those poor animals, I despair sometimes, since I have been doing rescuing around 30 years now I have seen some awful things.
You did what was right for the bunny at the time Lynda, you got him to safety and thats the main thing, you made his life so much better, such a sad story
