Just watched this on IPlayer. That woman had serious mental health issues. Her body language and her mannerisms were so erratic. I think her OH was trying to get her off the animal kick. The state of the house and garden made you wonder about her motivation for having animals. It must have been a need to nurture that made her crave something to love. I thought the programme dealt with her very sensitively.

Poor little buns. I am glad that she signed them over.

If she had at least put some water with the tea leaves, it would have been better.
The one thing in her favour was that she gave them up willingly as she knew she could not cope.
The rabbbits were gorgeous Love Love Love and fairly friendly despite the conditions they were living in.
I agrre with you Nickie regarding her mental health, I was also concerned about her little girl having to sleep in that poo (and probably bunny pee) filled bedroom. ugh

She'd probably been told by some 'knowledgable' person to feed them tea leaves and oats, that's what they used to use in the 'old days' and some BRC breeders still feed it. I've read it in a couple of books too Hmmm

i really do feel for the lady having a partner like that when its clear to see that she needs some support.

I only caught the last ten minutes so I didn't get her full story, but she did seem terribly ill, poor woman. I noticed a couple of cats in the background at one point as well, I hope they aren't suffering like the bunnies.

I was really impressed with how the RSPCA handled it though - there was no recrimination, just support. Hopefully the bunnies will be off to a happier life.

My mum said that I should give the buns tea leaves and porridge oats when I first had them. Embarassed When I didn't know better, I gave them a bit and they did like it. But they don't get anything like that now. That was in pre-HH days.
