We have just received an email from a couple who would like to adopt 2 babies. At the moment in the RSPCA lincoln, we do not have any babies ready to go. We do however, have alot of older pairs looking for a loving home. I have just marketed them as best I can, but was wondering if any of you gorgeous hoppers could give me some tips from your own experience on the benefits of rehoming an older bunny, as opposed to a baby?

*Developed temperment
*Already fully grown
*Health problems more apparent in an adult- no suprises
*Usually more laid back, especially if neutered as hormones have died away
*Often less destructive once through adolesence
*Already neutered and vaccinated though many rescues

I'll add more as they come to me. Smile

Young rabbits need a lot of attention, can be destructive (if indoors) esp at teenage stage. Older rabbits are generally more relaxed, easier to look after (esp if working full time) and more approachable. They are also overlooked and need homes just like the babies, but babies are easier to rehome.
If they're looking for buns for children, they are more appropriate.

Duno if that's any use, depends on the type of people asking I suppose x
