Good news for bunnies and the fight against animal testing!!

Not been on the forum in an age, so apologies, but I felt the following was worth a post... some of you may already be aware of it, but I got news of it today and felt it was a really good step in the right direction for abolishing all animal testing:

Good news for bunnies and the fight against animal testing!! Rabbit

"The DHT (Dr Hadwen Trust) welcomes news that non-animal methods to replace the 65 year old Draize rabbit test for severe eye irritancy, have finally achieved international acceptance. Thousands of rabbits will now be spared procedures where chemical substances, including for household products and cosmetics, are applied to their eyes. The DHT funded the vital early-stage research work in the 1980s that has now resulted in one of the replacement methods approved."

This is excellent news. I cannot stand to think what these poor rabbits go through. It angers me so much. It is a disgraceful and pure animal cruelty, in the name of science.

Thea where have you been. this is so weird, I was thinking about you loads last night and wondering where you were and what you were up to.

That is marvellous news. Getting shampoo in my eyes is such a painful experience so I can't imagine how awful it must be to have that done deliberately day after day. At least when it happens to me, I know that I won't have my eyes damaged because of some poor bunny.
