Fudge and the hay...........look mummy I built a nest!
I'm trying to convince Fudge that bunnies have to eat hay given he has dental issues and he isn't very good at eating it! I dared to buy a HUGE bag from the pet shop for £1.40!!!They bale up smaller bags from the stuff they get from a local farm...I gave his furryballness some yesterday and welll it is such hard work!
Turning his nose up....mummy you expect me to eat this?? It surely can't taste as good as wallpapery does
OK I will have a nose.......
Perhaps it isn't that bad.....
Yes mummy I'm eating it!!!
Its a bit messy and tangled mummy-bit like you eating spagetti.....
Will just have a little lie down....
That was hard work.........SNOOZE TIME................FLOP!

So cute.
Now Fudge has got the idea, do you think he could teach Sooty and Sweep, they won't touch it either.

Thumpersmum...this has been an ongoing battle for the last 2 and a half years!!!!! I KID YOU NOT!
I've found if the hay is slightly woody/stalky he doesn't want to know...he seems to have a sweetish tooth-naughty bunny so meadow hay, oat/wheat/barley hay goes down to some extent...I've tried making it fun...putting it in paper bags, tubes, boxes.....but find if he can help himself from the bag goes down better!

Well it looks like his Royal Furryballness might just get used to common hay from the pet shop. My mob prefer the meadow hay to any of the posh more expensive stuff, but they are'nt bunny royalty like Fudge. . I always put some in their litter trays as most of them like to nibble while doing their business.
Gorgeous photos of Fudge by the way. Mindy is nagging me to print them, so she can put them on the wall in her corner.

Clever boy Fudge. My pair have discovered that they LOVE hay now. I have started buying meadow hay from my equine shop and they adore it. I fill their litter trays with a massive amount and they eat one completely and sit on the other one.

I can't believe how grown up he looks! Chance refuses hay and Ratman doesn't seem overly keen. Yet all the others would live on it!
I love seeing pictures of his Royal Rabbitness!

I came home today to find Fudge had been playing in his hay-he even made himself a nest and buried himself in it! He did look rather cute, and I do believe he was even nibbling it!

Ahhhhh how cute Fudge!!!
Daisy was never keen on hay but we stopped buying the more expensive Timothy hay and got him some meadow hay and now he is well away.....still prefers his greens and nuggets but does eat a fair bit of it now.
Mind you - when it comes to greens he will ONLY eat bagged crispy florette.......expensive tastes in everything else the spoilt boy!
