Rabbit Residence Petition Empty Rabbit Residence Petition

Post by Agoutibunny Wed Feb 24, 2010 10:04 am

You may recall my post about the Rabbit Residence a month or so ago. Here is the link:-

Unfortunately, things have not been going too well for Caroline as her local parish council voted to reject her planning application. However, the final decision is with the district council and they are meeting next week. Caroline is desperate to present as strong a case as possible and wants over 1,000 signatures on her petition (about 850 names at last count). If there is anybody who didn't sign it last time I posted, or who is new to the forum and hasn't signed, please, please could you click on the link below and add your name to her petition. Here is the link:-

And because you all love bunny photos, here is one of my two buns who both came from the Rabbit Residence:-

Have just added my OH - he is no 907.

I am keeping everything crossed that the District Council see sense and allow Caroline to continue.

It makes me so angry this stuff, I really hope they see sense and don't drum another nail in the coffin if independent animal welfare and care centres like these. I'm sensing from this and other stories like it that there is an attempt to centralise rescuing and re-homing in this country to one or two bodies.

Hi folks

Just a quick update to let you all know that the number of signatures on the petition now stands at 1,131! Almost 300 people signed it yesterday and took the number well beyond the 1,000 that Caroline was hoping for.

I will keep you updated on the progress, or otherwise, of Caroline's planning application.

Thank you so much to everyone who helped. It's not to late to add signatures if there is anyone out there who hasn't done so yet.

The Planning Committee which considered Caroline's planning application met yesterday afternoon.

They agreed to let her stay open until January 2012. I guess it is good news that she is allowed to continue, but I know she had really hoped to be given permanent planning permission.

Thanks to everyone who signed the petition. Get ready for another push in January 2012. Rolling Eyes
