Kenzo is having problems again :(

He hasn't been eating any pellets for the last couple of days, but since he ate lots of hay I wasn't worried. But now he sneezes almost 24/7, he has trouble breathing, and he can't walk without falling, his legs shake when he walks and when he's not moving he just sits there looking VERY miserable.
As soon as I can (since it's 6am now) I'm calling the vet to rush him there, hopefully today...
I just lost my hamster, and my cat is very sick, so I realy hope that Kenzo will be ok.

update:
I'm back from the vet, Kenzo stayed there they are not sure if he has an inner ear infection or a parasite (I cant remember what it's called), but before they take care of his sickness they have to force feed him and put a machine to help him breathe, it might take 2 or 3 days.
He is in a critical state, and the vet said that he would probably have died during the night if I hadn't taken him to the vet today. All this is so sudden, it's kinda creepy...
The cost while he is staying at the vet is 139 euros (more or less the same amount in dollars) a DAY, I feel so bad because my mom has to pay part of it. I hope it won't last too long and that Kenzo will be at home and healthy soon.

update:
I just talked to the vet, she said that Kenzo is eating again, so they don't have to force feed him, but he still dosen't breathe well.
He dosen't have fever anymore and he is walking normaly! I'm so happy!
The vet told me that she will be able to tell me when he can come back home tomorow morning.
I'm realy relieved since yesterday it wasn't even sure he would survive the night. I hope he will be home soon, Chewy and I realy miss him.

But stay positive, you have to believe in him, just like I believe in Rufus!!

Sorry to hear about Kenzo being ill. Thank goodnes as you didn't just wake up and find him dead. At least he has a chance to pull through. When my son had an asthma attack as a child it always looked very dramatic, but the medicines had a really positive effect very quickly. It sounds as though they are putting him on a nebuliser which is a system for vaporising medication so that the person / animal breathes it in.

they said the vet responsable for Kenzo will be there at 11:30 (in half an hour now), and they are not allowed to give me any information on how he is doing, I have to wait and talk to her.
It dosen't sound good to me...

Is there any way you can visit him? It might help him and you to spend a little hour together?

And I can't visit him because in the afternoon I have to go to class and I can't visit in the morning.

What fantastic news! I started to get quite worried when they wouldn't give you any news. That he's hopping around and eating and doesn't have a fever is positive news, hopefully he gets on the mend and fully heals.

Yes Im so relieved with those news, even though he is still sick and he has lots of medicine, at least his life isn't in danger anymore. I think I hadn't been through so much stress for quite a while! Since I left him at the vet yesterday all I did was think about him and worry.
And I wish I could skip class but we have an important exam next thuesday and I don't want to fail.

The vet said that Kenzo has either an inner ear infection or a parasite, they have to do a radiography to determine what it is, but she wants to wait for him to be on his feet before taking care of that.
What caused the fact that he couldn't breathe is that he had too much liquid (I'm not sure what it's called in english, what you have in your nose when you catch a cold) in his nose and it blocked it. The reason he didn't eat and couldn't walk is because he felt dizzy and was probably in pain since he couldn't breathe well.
My poor boy...

It has nothing to do with my other pets, my hamster died of old age (and a stomach tumor) and my cat was sick because she ate a gecko (type of lizard) and it made her vomit for a few days, the vet had to rehydrate her.

If his breathing is bad too I wouldn't be suprised if he has an ear infection related to Pasteurellosis which affects the respiratory system and can also cause infections in other areas of the body. Ear infections can cause symptoms similar to EC in that they present neurologically (difficulty with balance and movement). It is best to treat for both simultaneously but I think Kenzo may respond to a hefty course of antibiotics.
