OMG, there has been a fight!!

I got home and my OH was quite angry with me. Apparently I had not locked the door where Rosie Lee lives. So Matisse and Louise had walked in there and there has been a massive fight. He saw Louise going after poor little Rosie and managed to get her out. But Rosie's ear is torn about 2 inches Of course there is absolutely nothing you can do, it's not possible to sew it together
She jumped in the outside run when I wanted to check her, so I cannot reach her. It has stopped bleeding rather soon but still, it's not a pretty sight

If he had not come down for a reason, what might have happened then?
I feel so guilty!!!

Well these things happen hun I am afraid. Don't blame yourself. I am sure she will be ok. She is probably just in shock now. Some TLC maybe?

It looks real bad She has a hole in her ear and from there a nasty looking tear, not sure if it's all the way through, she doesn't want to be handled.
Just yesterday I said : "never never again would I want two pairs!!" If I could start all over again, I'd have just a pair of Frenchies.
All day long, you go in, out, in back out, is it strange you forget to close a door once, no, coz you think, you'll go back in a min and then you don't.

i know Becki's bunny dylan had her ear torn and i think it was glued back together by the vet!

As Shellypops said we are all human and we get things wrong sometimes. Overall, you are a really caring and loving mum but you are human.

If it's going to be repaired I believe it has to be done qute soon after the initial wounding as the skin edges start to scab quite quickly. The best thing to do now would be to keep it clean, wipe it with a salt water solution twice a day, to ensure it doesn't get infected.

If it does start to look swollen, inflammed or weepy then she will probably need a course of antibiotics to clear it up until it heals.

Fiver and Marley both have bedraggled ears but in all honestly they have healed quite well and it isn't that obvious to look at.

I will try to photograph it later. It looks horrible, but it doesn't seem to bother her.
If I had been home myself I would have given her some Rescue, but I have that in my car and my OH wouldn't have thought of that anyway.
