Re: More Abscesses U/D
does baytril work on Isi? Baytril never used to do anything to Peanuts abcess they were resiliant. Septrin worked brilliantly on him, just we didnt use it soon enough. x

Re: More Abscesses U/D
We had the same issue with Baytril, it doesn't have a good depth of tissue penetration. Have you had a C&S test done?
We tried a few abx for Mack and the one that worked best was injections of Oxytetracycline LA every three days and packing the lanced abscess cavity with a mixture of Ornicure powder (doxycyline) and Intragel daily.

Re: More Abscesses U/D
Well it wasn't a burst abscess as first assumed (I kindda wish it was) - She has hurt her paw horribly I have no idea how either - but my vet said the type of injury seemed like she had got it trapped some where and yanked it out snapping one of her toes completely - I'm totally heart broken, I have re-done their whole house so it's completely different, I couldn't find anywhere she might have hurt it, and somehow it happened between 3:30am and 9am while I was in the room asleep, so she can't of made much noise My poor girl - She has lost her toe, and the biggest concern is that she will end up with an abscess on her paw because it was just messed up completely
Then of course to top everything else off - poor Benji's metacam got reduced and he's limping - remind me again why I chose rabbits?!
