Bunny Insurance Recommendations? Empty Bunny Insurance Recommendations?

Post by Magoo Tue May 25, 2010 8:09 am

I really need to get rabbit insurance for the bunnies but as it seems it's a bit more 'specialist' insurance compared to cats and harder to find a good one I thought maybe some of you could reccomend which insurance companies are the best for rabbits and things like quick and easy claims etc? Thanks Smile

There are only a couple of companies that will insure rabbits as most pet insurance is for dogs and cats.

I have Wolfie and Gloria insured with Petplan which I got through my Vet. I haven't had to claim anything, but I know other people who think they are good. What I like is that they have a cover for life plan which means if the bun develops some chronic illness whilst it is insured, the treatment is paid for as long as you continue to insure with Petplan. Some insurance companies will only pay for a limited period of time so it is worth checking that out before you insure.

All my four are with PetPlan and I've not had any problems with them. Ruby has been having treatment for nearly a year now, regular vets visits, med's etc and they have been great, paid up no problem.

Like Nickie said, Ruby is covered for life now, so as long as I keep up the premiums they'll pay for it. I have to pay the excess yearly, but when you consider that she's probably cost PetPlan in excess of £600 it's not a bad deal. Very Happy
