Injecting Buns/Dyls results back
I havent injected a bun for aaaages, and have totally forgotten what Im doing (Also lost confidence after ending up in A & E once doing Rhias jab ) Can anyone give me a few tips to get me back on track please?
Also might as well use this thread rather than make a new one. Got Dylans test results back, its pasteurella. No surprise really. So shes on injectable penecillin to try and shift it a bit. Bit gutted as after they find out what it is, they grow the bacteria to find out what abx can kill it, but it died before they got to that stage. Ahh well, we shall see!

I am sure you will be fine injecting again, just get someone to hold the bunny steady whilst you gather the scruff and make a tent, then just inject the bunny, I am sure you will be fine once you do one again

Remember to check the needle hasn't come out through the scruff before you depress the plunger so she gets a full dose. You may also need a wider gauge needle for penicillin as it tends to clump and sometimes the syringe 'explodes' where the needle separates from the body under pressure.
Also remember Depocillin needs to be stored in the fridge, but bring the syringe to room temperature before injecting, and if you do not have pre-drawn syringes, use a different needle to inject to the one you drew up with.
