Well Benji went in for the full works today, turns out he does a have arthritis, as suspected, but miles away from where he feels the pain Some Benji Answers... Icon_rolleyes go figure!! So he hurts in his back leg/hip area, and has horrible arthritus at the top of his spine Some Benji Answers... Icon_eek and the pain is defered to his leg Some Benji Answers... 239718 yea, that's benji, but at least we have answers. The only worry is what will happen when the bones fuse, as Mike wasn't sure what part of his mobility it will limit, but he say's that's years away. We like knowing for sure what's going on Some Benji Answers... Icon_biggrin Some Benji Answers... Icon_cheers Thought you might like to know too!

Although it isn't what you wanted to know, at least you have the answer and know what you're facing. It's lucky for him that he lives with you and not someone else.

Hope he is comfortable and painfree in the future. Jay will be able to let you know some tips as he has to manage Bertie's arthritis too.

Yes he's on 4.5kg dose of cat metacam, we've tried reducing it, but he gets all miserable and starts signs of stasis, so that's his limit I guess, for a few years at least. He's not on glucosomine atm, but I'm looking into alternative's as we have a lot of people come through work and they have all sorts of alternatives for their dogs that work wonders. Smile

Ahhh Benji.

Glad you have some answers hun, I found knowing what the actual problem is helps so much.

As Nickie said - he is lucky to have you as his mummy.

Sending him oodles of nose rubs. x x x
