Got a lady bun for Vince!!

Hi all

Just so excited to tell you that Vince now has a lady bunny friend!! I rehomed her from a lady who kept several rabbits free range who were bullying her and her friend. She is about 4 months old and looks like Vince but without the stripey effect. I'll post a picture when she comes out of hiding, We have named her Faline (from Bambi).

One question I have though is she seems to have a slightly wet nose, is this ok? She's got an appt at the vet on monday to be spayed (at the same time as Vince) so I'll mention it then, but does anyone think it might be serious or contagious to Vince? Vince is right next to her hutch so they can see each other.

I would get the nose checked anyway hun. How wet is it? Is it runny?

It left a wet patch on the box I brought her home in and she keeps licking it. I can't see if she's still doing it as she is hiding in her bedroom and I don't want to disturb her. She is lovely though

Wet noses in buns are better checked out and can be a sign of a respiratory infection (a bunny cold) - but please don't be alarmed as it might not be anything too bad.

When you get a new bun, you are always wise to quarantine them away from existing pets just in case they bring something contagious with them. I am sure your vet will be able to let you know if there is a problem. If she does have a respiratory infection, they may not want to do a GA on her, as they wouldn't on a human, so her op may have to be postponed.

Thanks guys! I do hope she is ok too, if she is spayed on monday i'll be able to bond them sooner than if i just have Vince done.

I'll try and get a photo later, she is very shy at the mo so I want her to feel comfortable in her new home before I pick her up for cuddles.
