Kuja and Lani... And Freya

Since Cid and Freya was a disaster, I thought Id try two groups of three, plus Cid on his ownsome.

So, tried Freya with Kuja and Lani today and its the best first date Ive ever done with bunnies. Freya suprisingly tried to mount *both* the other two but I stopped her from doing this so I don't think it will be a problem. Lani groomed Freya who went straight in to demand grooming, even though she's never even as much smelled these two buns before...

Hopefully this positivity between the three will keep up and Ill have a group of three. Who are a very pretty group indeed, my three white patterned bunnies together.

Ha, yes, I was a little too optimistic for Cid I think, but if he's happier alone I can accept that, at least I tried.

Tried them in non-neutral territory, and it wasn't the best, but I moved them on too fast. Will try them back in neutral tomorrow and stick to it for a week or so to make sure!

Kuja is perfectly happy with the situation, he just hops around like nothing new has happened, and grooms on demand still. Lani and Freya are a little mixed, Lani has attacked both Freya and Kuja... And Freya tried to attack Kuja, for no reason whatsoever, I think Lani being on edge makes Freya the same. But they do still eat together and Lano has groomed Freya a little. Freya still doesn't groom any rabbit, and I don't think she ever will!

But as I said I probably moved them on a little too quickly so will take a step back...

This 2 groups of three is a long shot I guess, but I hope it works.

Fingers crossed that it works out. It is a relief when they all get on. I still have to attempt putting my three together. That is the long-term plan for when I get an aviary built, but first I need them to be polite to each other!

You'll be able to write a book on bunny bonding by the time you have finished !

I think the problem is I don't know enough on bunny bonding! Ive tried plenty and failed plenty! If I could write a book maybe my bunny bonding would go smoothly....

Either that or I know lots, and its just that my bunnies are stroppy little drama queens, but I love them anyways, very much so

Things seem to be going ok.

Main problem is Lani still, not so hapy having Frey-Frey around, but she seems to be warming up to the idea! Though, everytime I post, Wooohoooo it's good news!, they promptly go kill each other the very next day, but we shall see...

A little bit of Lani chasing Freya, and plenty of Kuja being in demand for grooming, but he seems to prefer Freya.. You see, Kuja has a thing for ears, he loves licking the insides of pretty girl's ears.. And well, Freya has bigger ears...

Major major major breakthrough...

I spent about 3h with them yesterday, some in neutral some non-neutral.. Not even the slightest bit fighting.. Binkying from Kuja and Freya, seems Lani is still the most wary of the situation.

But, Freya actually did something amazing, she groomed Kuja. Ive never seen her groom another rabbit before, so I guess she must really like him!

And, Lani and Freya spent some time flopped together and exploring together, which is also a first, as its the two girls that are most unsure of each other.

Hopefully, I might be able to get them in a cage for a couple of hours together in a couple of days or a week...

How is little Daisy getting along?

Daisy is doing fine, her weight is still good, and she's as happy and nosey as ever, very much 'one of us' now!

The two girls have been absolute terrors today

Sad to hear the two girls aren't getting along again. The bonding process takes a LOT of time and patience, hopefully things will work out and this will just be a bad day.

They go from being wonderfully cute and sweet, to becoming little monsters!

Freya has been an absolute nightmare, she has attacked Lani on three occasions now, with much fur flying.

I didn't think Freya had this much nasty in her.

They will be back to neutal territory tomorrow which is a huge step back from where they were... Sucks

Just a small update - I gave up on this trio idea as Freya/Lani just can't seem to iron out thier differences.

So, now I have to find between my 4 does, a pair. I tried Beatrix with the other does and that is a huge NO! It was attack on sight for her, she clearly does not like girls!

I did something rather crazy and then tried an unspeyed Daisy with Freya, only for a short while as a 'test', and actually Daisy groomed Freya, but then she also got too demanding and Daisy pulled some fur. But, Ill leave that as a possibility, coz I have to take into account that Daisy isn't yet speyed, and won't be for some time yet
