I told you she hated me!
Just went out to feed all the rabbits and lock them up for the night, and Flopsy bit me!
I could understand that she doesn't like being picked up or even stroked but if she's going to be aggressive i don't know what to do, i have small nephews and nieces that absolutely love the rabbits and i can't take the chance that she will bite them like this.
I hope she calms down when she's spayed

Re: I told you she hated me!
There must be a reason why she is so aggressive. Was she rescued? A spey should calm her down. Have your tried Serene-Um Calm for rabbits?

Re: I told you she hated me!
No she wasn't rescued, she was born in this house so i don't know why she's like this ):
I'm booking them in very soon!
I haven't tried that, but i'll definitely look into it, thanks!

Re: I told you she hated me!
what breed is she? I hate to say but out of 8 girls I havnt had this issue before spaying them, had one with issues but not bitey so not sure if spaying will help. Maybe an idea to mention to the vets incase theres a pain issue sometimes they can give them a good once over while they are under sedation anyway.
Good luck
Good luck

Re: I told you she hated me!
Thats a good point. When I got Stacey I thought she was fine but she used to aggressive and bite me she was never speyed but I noticed an abscess on her and once I had that checked out and cleared up she was fine with me was never aggressive or bit me again.

Re: I told you she hated me!
It is probably because she isn't speyed. Female rabbits get very territorial about their hutch. Just putting your hand in is enough to make them lunge and bite sometimes. You need to be a lot more cautious and respectful of her space until she is speyed. You will notice a change in her temperament, but it won't happen overnight so be patient.

Re: I told you she hated me!
It can take 2 weeks at least for the hormones to calm down after neutering and by 4-5 weeks you should see a marked difference in her if that's the cause. Hope it works for you. Till then I usually use a dustpan shovel to cover my hand while I spot clean or tidy if im concerned about this and it stops you stressing, they wont pick up on the stress and they can stay calm too.
Re: I told you she hated me!
It does take a while after a spay for them to calm down and my Luna is still quite moody, but never bites to break skin and Nickie is right - be more wary of her territory for now as that is probably what will make her aggressive. Don't write her off, give her some time ! Indeed they all have very different personalities.
Serenum drops are good, but I found they have too much protein in them (i think that's right) and Luna did too many of the poos that they are meant to eat (can't remember what they are called ) but then that might just have been with her I'm not sure!
Good luck hope the spay goes well xx

Re: I told you she hated me!
My Piper used to bit when she was younger. Even after I got her speyed she was a little aggressive. I've had her for three years now and she has calmed down a lot but it certainly didn't happen overnight. I hope it helps having her speyed, good luck!
