Ok I Have A Friend
Who lost their rabbit a few months agos well his daughters after it was very sick and died. They are looking into getting a new bunny in 2 weeks he lives in the US and they know a breeder but she also does rehomes I have just been informed. I have told him to get a rescue bunny but he would like a docile sort of breed and does anyone know anything about a velveteen lop? I have never had one before so I do not know what they are like. He also said a Nethie & a holland lop of course nethies can be cuddly but from my own experience it rarely happens so suggested the holland and a american fuzzy... Anyone help??

Re: Ok I Have A Friend
A velventeen lop in my opinion is one of the worst breeds to go for. You have the rex fur, on a lop body which is asking for health problems, so i dont think thats a good option.
A holland lop is just the american term for a think dwarf lop, so its the same as our dwarf lops which i would would say would be a better choice than say a "fuzzy" or "velveteen" which are quite new and experimental.

Re: Ok I Have A Friend
Maybe suggest to him to go and meet a few rabbits at the rescue?? Cause even though some breeds have different traits, I expect it also depends on the individual rabbit itself too. For example, how much they have been handled up untill when you get them and things. Just a thought that if he is looking for a certain personality to maybe go meet some buns and see which suits him best rather than him just going by breed . I could be wrong, but it's worth a try lol

Re: Ok I Have A Friend
I agree with LilyGrace, perhaps the bun should choose him instead of the other way around. No good having a pretty bun who is shot away, much better to have a bun with personality that is compatible to your own.
