What is wrong with people?

So last week we had Izzy the giant come in after living in a tiny hutch that she couldn't even stretch out in. She was fed on hamster food and left to a miserable existence.

Tonight Dawn (DixieLuBun) has had 13 rabbits brought in and get this, they were all living in 2 indoor guinea pig cages. They re left in a house along with 19 hamsters, 9 cats and 2 dogs. Some of the bunnies are babies and are painfully thin. One male only has 1 ear after having to have it removed. The other ear is damaged so i figure this is due to fighting. The males are all entire and all fightng each other. Goodness knows if there are any pregnant females. There are only 4 females thank god and 2 of them are babies. Poor Dawn has had to evict her own rabbits from their mansions to try and squeeze the new arrivals in. It has been all go. Me and Yodaphine and her boyfriend went round to help and it was heart breaking to see how they have been living, And these a added to the existing foster buns she has along with the 8 still waiting to come in. I just don't understand how some people can live with themelves.

On a more positive note, i had giant bun nosey rubs with Izzy tonight who is like a different bunnynalready

It is just pure ignorance. Why do people feel they have to get animal after animal and then when it all gets too much, dump them. I just don't understand it.

Poor poor rabbits

There seems to be a lot of cases now where people are moving house and leaving their animals behind, Enya the little Nethie girl that we have was left behind when her owners moved house...how can you forget a little bunny! what harm had she done to anyone she loves Roly who we bonded her with but if Mike or I go in the room she runs and hides...she is so nervous
I often wonder why people get animals to just dispose , dump or leave them behind when they tire of them.

It makes me sick it really does. What is wrong with people!

The poor rabbits, that is awful

I couldn't believe how much they ate last night we couldn't put the food in quick enough.

I wish people would learn to respect animals, we all have to share this planet together. It isn't for one species to dominate and control everything...at least there are people like you Charlotte who are there to help . Those poor little buns, sending lots of happy vibes for them

I really cant believe how much of this cruelty I have witnessed in less than 2 weeks! Its discusting! Makes me despise humans sometimes...I just cant get my head around it!

When I got Mr Starbuck his story horrified me. He was rescued by a holidaying couple form a pen in someones back garden ... a pen about 6ft square with 28 rabbits in it! He was suffering from a bad case of mites, maloclusion, eye ulcers and was terribly thin and covered with wounds from being attacked by the other rabbits.
He was the sweetest, gentlest buck immaginable.... Clawed adored him!
It's high time the punishment fitted the crime............... make the perps SUFFER TOO!!!!!!!!!

Just terrible... This can't even just be a case of general ignorance of a bunny needs, that's just outright cruelty, noone could possibly think those conditons where okay... Terrible what some people do to poor animals that they are responsible for... And that can't do anything to defend themselves...

I wish the punishment would fit the crime but it never does

Why do people get away scott-free after doing this? It should be punishable. Makes me BOIL!!!!!

To give you an update all bunnies are doing very well. I can't thank Charlotte, Jo and Ryan enough for all their help in the mammoth bunny sort but we did it. They are eating me out of greens and pellets but its so nice to see them binky round the pens. As for Izzy we not sure if she was a help or hinderance with the bunny clean yesterday as everytime Jo had a hutch clean she would jump in and own it. Then binky over to Ryan for nose rubs before tugging at my jeans for attention to say Hi I am here.
I love them all and just hope they find their own forever homes and not have to go through what they have in the past.

Yes she is and will make someone a wonderful furbaby. I'm just on tender hooks today as she is in being neuteted. I just need names for 13 furbabies so they can be registered for neutering and health checks.

Yes Jo knows but I asked Emma to look after her for me as she is special Mr Way popped his head out and said don't worry we will. And thank you was going to chip bunnies and name them by number but they need names they are so sweet.

It brings out the very worst in me when I hear about treatment like this. I feel as if I want to gather all the little ones around the world in my arms and make them safe.

I dont get cruelty and neglect - its not exactly rocket science to understand that any living creature needs food, water and a decent level of care.

These people make me think that if brains were dynamite, they wouldnt have enough to blow their noses.

I think they are missing something in their brains - like they are missing most of it.
