whats wrong with her?

my female rabbit has been strange for few days very relaxed and lazy is how it seemed she hasnt come out her cage even though the option was there, and this morning i noticed she had moved her litter tray to the other side of her cage and h and put it in a corner where she was lying, when i opened her cage this morning she stamped and scratched me she is usually ok.

is this a sign there is something horribly rong?
she does have the vet today but not till this afternoon so was trying to ease my wurry.

I think you have done the right thing making an appointment. When buns withdraw or become suddenly aggressive it can be a sign that they are in pain. It does not necessarily mean that there is a big problem though. good luck.

well she is booked in for her vaccine today but im more wurried about how odd she has been and now to suddenly scratch me when all i did was open her cage for her to come out, i just hope she is ok x

Ask you vet to check teeth and belly - they are always the most likely problems. But checking limb mobility is a good plan as well. If she is under the weather the vet should be proposing the vaccination is put off anyway. My money would be on a dental issue in which case they should have her in tomorrow to sort it out and then they can arrange a follow up in a week or so when the vaccination can be given.

It *might* be teenage hormones - all of our girls got stroppy a little while before they were spayed. Glad you're getting her checked out though...

The grunting at you when you put your hand in her area does sound like it could be territorial. Hoping you report back that things are OK.

back home now, she has a tummy bug and had an injection to sooth her tummy she couldnt have the jag she was supposed to as she wasnt well enough i had no idea she was poorly xx

not as much as she usually does its like small nibbles but its as if it takes too much out of her to eat and drink, she just keeps lying down shes usually very active and hyper x

Its good that she is still eating even if it is only a little bit.

Keep an eye on her and make sure she keeps eating hun.

With christmas around the corner ask your vet if you can have some "critical care" and have this at home ready in case you need to syringe feed her over christmas hun. (not saying this will happen but just in case).

i think i will give them a phone tomoz and ask for that just incase.

Thanks Katie and Icedancer! Like I said....I'm getting an education. Hopefully not insulting too many people as I learn.

Except for the BBCA and our PBS(public broadcasting system; it's mostly educational things) which plays Britcoms late night, we don't see much from the UK. Of course most of the Britcoms are decades old, but enjoyable none-the-less.

Current Dr. Who we watch on BBCA and the more classic years on PBS. We are Whovians! We think Thumper is also since his ears always focus on the Tardis when it makes sound. I wonder what he will do if I get my #1 requested item for Christmas.....a Dr. Who Cookie Jar w/ Tardis sounds from BBCA! I'll never grow up!

I have a niece and nephew who live in the US and when they come over to visit (they're big teens now), my boys spend the time teaching them to speak 'British'. Last summer they spent a week re-educating Heather to say 'maths' instead of 'math'.
