whats just happened???????????

So ive just been trying to round up the buns (a little late i know) and when I picked Roman up he screamed and screamed and screamed, my bf came running out as he though one had been caught by somethin, in the end i put him back down. Ive never heard anything like it in my life!!!! I hate to think what ran through his mind poor thing

Oohhh wonder what caused him to scream is he in pain?

Is Roman Ok ? has he done this before as rabbits usually scream if they are in great pain or sheer terror. Have you given him a good check all round to see if he is ok?

Is he OK? He must have been terrified or in pain. Did you startle him?

Sounds like he is in severe pain or fright....if it wasnt fright he needs to get to the vet straight away.

yeah he is fine ive held him this morning and there is nothin obvious, poked and prodded just incase he had a bad belly or something but he is fine, diggin in his pit at the min, Ive never heard anything like that scream he done last night was horrendous!!! im takin him to the vets tomorrow to get it checked out (earliest appointment) he is there next week but dont wanna wait ty for all your info and concerns xx

He may just have been very scared. If you were chasing him around in the dark and then just grabbed him to catch him, he would have felt he was being grabbed by a predator.

One of my rabbits once screamed when he was being chased by the dominant female. When she cornered him, he let out this almighty scream. It is a dreadful sound to hear.

I've never heard a bun scream before. Really don't want to either.

A girl I used to work with takes her dogs hunting. She said to me one day 'you should have heard the rabbit scream when the dog caught it'

It's amazing how someone can just not appreciate the fear and stress of another sentient animal. It is really inconvenient that rabbits have to be chased, surely they could be trained to just walk into that bag!

Yeah was told he is a happy chap and in good condition for being a stray, although I think our Rose chomped on his ear out of jelousy cos he was getting to go out with his harness on lol. Glad he is ok, vet said I prob scared him creeping up on him in the dark lol not funny i know but embarrising thanks for asking xx

I am sure your vet would rather see you over nothing than feel you would't come when you need to. When I was bonding Bruce and Flo they had had a big incident where Flo had got quite injured. When she had recovered and was back in bonding territory again they had anothe very small spat and her toe was cut. There was blood everywhere and I paniced. I wrapped her foot tight with bandage and padding and took her to the vet. When we unwrapped the foot it was a tiny cut and had stopped bleeding completely. But the vet said he'd rather I was overly cautious than dismissive.

Poor Roman. The only time ive heard a rabbit really scream is when my brother stood on Dolly. It was horriffic, i cuddled her and cried for ages. Makes me well up just thinking about the noise!

...Has anyone had a bun that makes a weird noise when being picked up? Skye hates being picked up and on the odd occasion where i cant avoid it, she always makes a weird noise. Like a mix between a grunt and a squeak.

yeah im the same if they get a scratch im at the vet lol, think Roman liked the attention think the vet was quite taken with him and his tail of woe lol. Think he takes his frustrations out on twinkle and she gives him a good kicking for humping her head lol x

I've heard rabbits scream and it's horrendous and you never quite get over it especially if it's one of your own rabbits As for the girl you used to work with that takes her dogs hunting......words fail me
