Poor little Pebbles! Empty Poor little Pebbles!

Post by SarahJane Mon Oct 03, 2011 7:20 pm

I thought she looked a bit skinny last week but I always think that and then she is fine, so I didnt think too much of it. Took them for their vaccs today and Pebbles was 2.1 KG last time (nearing 2.2), and this time she was 1.89.

He checked her teeth and she has lots of ulcers on her tongue but because she is eating fine we are going to do the dental in 2 weeks time, and im going to give her porridge with water etc so she gains weight because he doesnt want to do it while she is so little.

Bless her, you wouldnt know it from looking at her, i feel quite nervous Embarassed which is silly. I think its because I have never had her when shes had a GA as she was spayed when i got her.

Aww poor Pebbles what a brave girl she is, she must like her food then.
It's only natural to be nervous especially if she has never had a GA whilst being with you.

Im sure she will be fine and Im not one to normally worry about routine things but...she is the baby isnt she, shes little Pebbles Love

AND.....all three are going in for it, the shame! If it was Jelly, i would send her in on her own, but Pebbles will be very scared, she has never stayed away from us really and she has never been away from Domino and I know it will bother her. and I feel mean just leaving Jelly behind so erm...all three are going! It will give the vet nurses something to coo over! Whenever Bruce goes in for a dental Flo goes too. She spends the day ripping up all their newspaper and grunting and growling at them. It gives them something to talk about! Laughing

Ha ha I love that you're bringing all three in, good on you, it will relax her and make her feel better. Bruce always accompanies Josephine when she has vet visits, he gets more frightened than her!

Porridge sounds like a good idea for feeding her up, good luck trying to hide it from Domino!

Blimey, Poor little girl. I'm shocked that the vet is waiting two weeks to do it when she already has ulcers. Understand a few days to build her up, but surely if the spurs are bad, the ulcers will just get worse? I'd be having words Sj! Thumbs Up Sending hugeeeee cuddles.xxxxx

I did think maybe a week, but he was concerned at how skinny she was and said he wants to give her as much time as possible to build herself up, I gave her porridge with water, apple and spinach (and hidden metacam) this morning and shes scoffed it up and then ran outside and started demolishing a willow ball so she is clearly feeling fine.

She isnt acting "typical" dental bunny, she doesnt look different, not acting different, no dribble, no off her food, and he said because she is a little bun anyway, who gets stressed and just tends to react to things (I.e it would be her who reacted to her cylap, her who would stop eating over firework noises) we should build her up as much as possible.

He did say if she starts to show any signs just bring her in and they will do it asap so she doesnt go into stasis, but he said technically I brought her in for her jab, so its not like I had noticed it because of symptoms so we should try and fatten her up a bit as we have the chance to.

Bless her, she loved her brekkie this morning, will try and upload the video here, but for those of you on my facebook its on there x
