Domino almost bald
You know domino has just had kits and she and easter has put the babies into one bundle but when I was spraying domino this morning Ive noticed she is bald up the sides of her legs (not so much round the tail or anything so flystrike is ruled out as there is not wounds and the skin is in a lovely condition under her belly looks like she has been waxed she feels lovely. Im thinking Easter may not be pulling her weight and leaving domino to do the donkey work. The kids are in lovely condition so they are well looked after but I dont want domino going down hill because of stress or anything x
Re: Domino almost bald
What were you spraying her with? Isn't she feeding kits?

yeah she is feeding them they are all nice and fat and active I was spraying her tail bit with Johnsons fly strike,
I feel Easter isnt feeding her kids so domino is feeding all 10!
They have put them all in one nest for some reason??? I know who's is who's as easters is grey and dominos is white now

Re: Domino almost bald
Have you checked that the spray is safe to use while the kits are so young? I know it is quite a strong chemical.
I'd be surprised if they were all thriving if all were feeding off one mummy bun - if the kits are plump and mums aren't losing weight or condition I'd not worry too much. I assume they have unlimited pellets now?

Re: Domino almost bald
Yeah they got as much dry food as they want, the spray doesnt say anything about babies so I just put it on domino, I took one of each baby out last night and the difference between them is unreal! dominos babies are massive in comparison and they are only a day older??
Re: Domino almost bald
I would keep an eye on them Hun. A mum rabbit should feed the buns twice a day.

Re: Domino almost bald
I had a good look at all them today and some of each litter is massive where others are tiny! I dunno if its survival of the fittest or something but just seems a bit strange
