i decided to clean bluebell's cecotrophe's that she could not reach and were stuck to her so i tried to cut the long fur around her bits and caught her Shocked she bled i quickly bathed it to stop the bleeding and see that it was quite bad Sad
i rushed her to the vets and she has had to have a general anesthetic and some stitches they sent her back home and she is really upset with me Crying or Very sad
i'm sure she will forgive me soon but i feel bad

Oh no Rob!! I'm sorry to hear what happened to Bluebell!!

You have to be really careful with scissors, my vet managed to give Thumper a nasty cut on her tail last year. I swear it was like a scene from a horror movie! pale I fainted Embarassed Well done you for remaining upright Thumbs Up Laughing

I'm sure Bluebell knows you didn't do it on purpose, so don't beat yourself up Hugs

Oh poor Bluebell - I hope she feels better soon and forgives you.

Humum finds that a decent brand of babywipes are good for cleaning up around back ends. Why is she getting caecotrophs stuck to her? Is she a bit overweight?

I used to use P@H grooming wipes for wiping Thumper down when she had a little bit of pee on her back end Smile

Oh poor Bluebell but you didn't do it on purpose and it does happen, we use non scented baby wipes not only are they brilliant for wiping bunny bot's but if you stand on a soft poop on the carpet they get the mark off. We wouldn't be without baby wipes.

It's always worth Rob having a rounded tipped pair of scissors sometimes as they cause less harm Smile

thanks i gave her a cuddle lots of kisses appoligised and gave her lots of strokes but she has not eaten yet and won't look at me at the moment but she's only been back home since 18.15
hope she forgives me Sad
won't use scissors on them ever again if it needs doing i will take her to vets for it they said for me to take her if she needed trimming..
she needs to lose a little weight when she's better as vet thinks she can't clean heself because of her weight

Yes! Curved Bandage Scissors are must haves in any emergency kit! Someone
had asked me several weeks ago to show the differences...I forgot Embarassed Sorry! Embarassed Notice
that both types have a snub nose on one blade.

Curved Unisex 7.5 in Bandage Scissors-notice the handle loops are different sizes and are built for a bigger hand.

Curved 5.5 in Bandage Scissors. Handle loops are the same size. I find these
smaller bladed scissors much easier for trimming around bunny bottoms and bits.

And if you are ever lucky enough to find curved 5.5 in bandage scissors with different sized handle loops....cherish them!
