Reggie has had blood taken and two lots of tests are being run now - the vet will phone at about 7pm with the results....

We'll let you know as soon as we hear  

Sian did say she thought she could see a tiny sore spot on Reggie's tongue right at the back of her mouth, so it might be dental yet. If the bloods come back clear we'll get her in tomorrow for sedation and a better look and hopefully if there is a spur they can sort it straight away...


Sian did say Reggie was the best-behaved rabbit she has ever taken blood from, she just sat there and let her get on with it

Well, it turns out the machines at our vets won't run rabbit blood  so they have been sent out to a lab and we should get results tomorrow...

Oh our fingers and paws are still crossed here that it's nothing serious xxxxxxxxx

Nope, still waiting for results. Hoping the vet is going to phone any time soon...


ETA: although Reggie does seem fine at the moment as long as she is on the meds

Reggie is fine with the meds, she steamed into her tea so it's no panic although it would be nice to know if there is something that needs treating, or if we need to investigate more...

There has been *some* news but it was Hudad who spoke to the vet and he is a man so it's not entirely clear  

Nothing back from the lab yet, could be tonight or in the morning (good thing she's not desperately ill  ).

The vet did manage to get some results from their machine and one of them was slightly out of the normal range. Sian has spoken to an exotics specialist and they have asked to be kept informed of all the results - apparently this slightly abnormal one does not mean much on its own but needs to be looked at in conjunction with the other results.

So nothing terrifying has been found yet, but then not much at all has been found yet.

Max and Mason are in for their post-neuter checks at 6 so if Humum sees Sian she'll try to have a catch-up with her, and make sure Reggie has enough of the meds she needs to see her through a few more days at least...

No, Sian had phoned Hudad from home as she wasn't in the practice today. But she did leave a note on the system saying she'll give us another update tomorrow and hopefully they'll have all the results back. We're really pleased that she is consulting an exotics specialist on Reggie's behalf without us needing to ask though, that's good service

Blood results back. It seems Reggie is a little anaemic which, according to the exotics specialist, is very unusual and extremely rare in buns. She did say it was nothing to worry overly about, it may be a symptom/effect of whatever is wrong with her. There was also a lot of medical terminology that hudad, bless him, didn't understand but that's the gist of it.

Reggie is booked in with Sian for 8:20am tomorrow for sedation and a full mouth investigation to see what is going on at the back of her mouth as that appears to be the area for concern indicated by tests so far. They'll also take another set of bloods for analysis free of charge  

I am glad that you know what is wrong with her and that you can get help wiht it, does she need to be on a special diet or will they just give her iron?

I hope her teeth asre okay and glad they are investigating it and that you get the bloods free of charge this time.
