Can someone please advise re Holly's behaviour?

I cannot tell you what a joy and happiness Holly has brought to our lives but I wonder if I could just run something past you.

She always wants a cuddle and gets really upset if she hasn't had human company for more than a few minutes, which is what I have always wanted in a bun. She and Binky seem to have settled down except at night time when Binky tries to come up for a fuss, she gets nasty and bites him. I usually put her next door for a couple of hours so that Binky can have a love too. However when I am lying in bed with head on pillow obviously, she runs over my face and runs around in a small circle. I have never had a bun do this before and wondered if it is bonding behaviour. Holly is definitely a girl and when I asked the lady at the animal shelter if she had been spayed, she said that the people who left her said not. So, in a little while I am going to have her spayed as soon as we can. She is spraying though and leaving little "twos" everywhere but even if she had come to us preggie I wouldn't consider parting with her, she is just adorable.

Can anyone throw any light on the behaviour please?

I'd expect spaying to sort all of that out, Jo. Circling, spraying and jealousy are all classic hormonal signs. I would try to get her done sooner rather than later, before any of it becomes habits that are well instilled in her.

I agree with Sparky. And it is definitely that time of year again. The moult has started. Flo keeps pulling al the hay out of the rack and digging up the rug in a way that is suggestive of nest making. And she is spayed.

It sounds a little like she is 'claiming' you, you are under the bunny paw   

The spraying will defo stop once spayed, with mine it was immediate.

Yes I would think that spaying shall sort this. Though Bubbles sometimes circles around Bertie and even mounting him but he does not approve of such behviour.

Thank you my darlings for all your kind replies and I will get her spayed as soon as poss. I have been quoted an approx price oof £107so we are going to have to budget for that because as you say Sparky love, it is better to be sooner rather than later. Binky is undergoing a dental procedure on Tuesday amd that is costing a lota nd it is debateable as to whether Petplan will cover it. We are paying the vet and if we are covered, we will get our money back, so I will see if we can manage it next month, You are right Vince sweetheart, I think she is claiming me for her own; she certainly has me wrapped around her little paw which is the same thing LOL!! She is so adorable and wants to be loved all the time.

I'm surprised about the vet rates. £106.00 wow that's high

Yes it is rather isn't it love, I thought that? It is going to make us scrimp for a few weeks which is going to be horrible but as long as Binky is OK; furries always come first.

That is a bit costly for a spay isn't it? I do not know if females cost more than males but Dougal was not that expensive compared to that. Wow. I hope you manage hun, the little fluffs like to keep our bank cards busy dont they, Dougal is at the vets tomorrow, well hoping so as he is not right at all. He likes to keep our bank card busy. He is worht it though and would pay the world over to hlep him be healthy and good. Just wish I could do the sane for Ste.

That seems really pricey. Willow's spay quote was £57, and our vets aren't on the cheap end...

Hope Binky does well in his dental, and Holly's spay goes well too

Ha ha Bugsbunny love, you have got that right. Sometimes I just feel like handing the card over to them LOL!!

Binky is fine thank you and has come around but the vet is keeping him in for today as he was late having his op and they want to make sure he is OK before he comes home. We are not being charged for this (or maybe we are in hindsight) but having spoken to other bunny mums who are part of our Hopper Group, their vets all seem to charge about the same. Cornwall generally is not cheap, it is a lovely place to live (absolutely great if you are rich!) but I do think it is one of the places where you pay more for most things.
