Last Saturday the RSPCA were holding a Bunny Awareness day near me. As I knew KayJ's very bunny savvy vets were there I took our six along to meet them and for their opinion on teeths.
I already knew that Herbie, Rosie, BJ and Nia have uneven molars so it was no surprise that Rosie's sister Hollie also joined the club. I had high hopes for Gabe as he has a different head shape to the rest but no, he made it six out of six.

The vet was brilliant and said that he did not feel there was any need for remedial treatment apart from Herbie who may need a dental in the near future. My own vet has also talked about the pre-disposition of lionheads to being prone to dental problems and the impact of diet on teeth as babies. Mine also said what she is seeing may be a normal appearance for our bunsters and may not actually deteriorate further.

I still feel a crummy bunny mummy tho, they are on Meadow and Timothy Hay, veg and Timothy Hay pellets and a small bowl of Redigrass and dried herbs for supper. They are all good hay eaters so I don't know what else I can do - apart from regular checks.

oh hon dont blame yourself!! rabbits are going to have teeth problems, you cant always avoid them. You do all the very best things for them, and yes they are still having some dodgy teeth but it isnt your fault and you will help them however you can.

You can't blame yourself as you are doing everything right
As the vet said they may not need any treatment as may live happily wiht the slight edges they have
As long as they are checked regularly and you continue with the good diet they are on..you are doing all a good owner can
and I too could have guessed Gabriel wouldn't want to be left out! Rolling Eyes

Thank you for making me feel better. And you are right Jill, they are edges rather than spurs.

Am feeling a bit glum at the moment as am missing Gabe being in the conservatory so much Sad
