Rabbit Residence
I am new on here so apologies if this has been posted before. I did a search but couldn't find anything.
The Rabbit Residence is a rabbit rescue near Royston in Hertfordshire that is run by Caroline. She works tirelessly to rescue and rehome rabbits and also educates people about how pet rabbits should be looked after. She originally intended that her rescue house 30 rabbits but, at the last count, she had 128 in her care!
Both of my buns came from Caroline's rescue and she has provided help and advice on an ongoing basis when I have needed it.
Unfortunately, although the Rabbit Residence has been in operation for over ten years, in recent years Caroline has had to apply for planning permission on an annual basis to keep the rescue open. She is in the process of applying to the local council for this planning permission to be renewed and is supporting her application with a petition calling on the council to allow the rescue to continue.
I know Caroline would be so grateful if people on this Forum could take the time to sign this petition. Here is the link:-

(I hope I am allowed to post links)
In addition, if there is anyone who doesn't know about Caroline and her work, here is the link to her website:-

Many thanks.

Re: Rabbit Residence
Wow, she's done well getting 6 hundred odd siggies so far, and getting on TV is always a good boost! Her website is really good, and good info. Perhaps you could ask her if she'd like to join HH, or at least consider handing out one of our leaflets to new bunny owners. That way, other people like you can get the support of other bunny owners, all helps to make a better life for the buns

Re: Rabbit Residence
Thanks for signing, I really appreciate it and I know that Caroline will too.
I will keep you updated on how she gets on with her planning application.
And Jay, I will talk to her about giving out Happy Hoppers leaflets. It would be a really good idea. I know when I adopted my first rabbit it was a huge learning curve and to have known that there was somewhere I could go for help and advice and to share problems would have been a godsend. Still is ....!

Re: Rabbit Residence
I didn't realise Caroline was having to re-apply annually, I remember the outcry when the council first insisted on her gaining for planning application....that was bad enough.
Have signed and hope the council see sense soon.
