Cleaning Mucky Bots
Hello < my littel boy Carlo has been getting a skiddy bun for the past couple of days, I have kept it as clean as poss literally with luke warm water and cotton wool!
His poops look normal to me, and I have cut out his veggies for a couple of days...I am obviously worried about Fly strike, so want to keep him as clean as poss, has anyone got any tips on how this should be done?
My two are both House buns, and litters are changed everyday.
Just don't know what I am doing wrong

Re: Cleaning Mucky Bots
No he is a rescue bun and he needed feeding up a bit when we got him, about a month ago.
He is SS same as Bobby, (she's my ladie bunny)
They both get about an egg cup full a day, and half a large spring green leaf each, with broccoli stalks, corainder, basil (this is the same as his foster mummy fed him)
He has just had his myxi and been on eyedrops for a weepy eye, would this have anything to do with it?
He is eating all his special poops, and his poops look normal.. However he makes a littel oof noise when he poops

Re: Cleaning Mucky Bots
Am I right in thinking he is a dental rabbit? Some dental bunnies have issues cleaning themselves when their teeth are causing them problems.
Gross question, but what do the poops look like that are getting stuck to his bottom?

Re: Cleaning Mucky Bots
Well the vet only had a look in his mouth and said there were a few high bits.. his weepy eye has cleared up after a week of drops... so I am still not sure if he definitley a dental bun or not. I am getting him seen again next week by the vet that does the dentals
The poops don't get stuck to his bum, its just like skids... sort of browny red

Re: Cleaning Mucky Bots
I'm not sure if the myxi jab might have upset him - I really don't know to be honest, but I suppose it's a possibility.
I actually posted yesterday about my buns having the same problem! Although in my case I suspect it's cause I gave them a bit too much fresh grass.
Keep them off veg for a few days and hopefully that will do the trick. I've ordered some Pro-C probiotic to give mine, so am waiting for that to arrive.
Baby wipes are good for cleaning - just try and keep him as clean as possible and if his poos are looking OK, hopefully it's just a temporary problem. Good luck!

Thanks I think its getting better, apparantly I have been told sometimes the Myxi vaccs can make their special poops taste a bit off, so you may sometimes get a few excess ones
