PS3 owners - is this just me?

The browser on the PS3 is pants, proper big pants, it's some ancient mobile phone browser. I used to be able to read the forum on it, but now it won't let me, it just brings up the posts with no content and I have to go to 'quote' to see what people have said. Bizarrely is does display Pm's

Am wondering is this is something I need to alter on the PS3, or just cos it's a cruddy browser?

Anyone else have the same?

Just spoken to Ryan, he has a PS3 and is more clued up on all this technical malarchy than me...Apparently he says the browser is quite basic, its somethin to do with flash and java, seems to have trouble runnin sites that use it even tho PS3 says it can run such apps....I am merely repeatin what he has told me, and hasten to add that not a word of what he has just told me makes any sense to me at all But I hope it helps you in someway

Have u updated it recently? Check for updates.

Yeah, you have compulsory updates regularly, it stopped working a few months ago, but the reason I think it might be to do with my settings is that I was looking around some other forums by the same forum providers last week, and some display ok, and some don't.

I have never ued the PS3 to look at websites, so can't help ya, sorry

I don't know much about computers, except that I'm pretty certain Java and flash are primarily to do with visual affects and displaying text shouldn't require compatibility with either of those languages.

Can you download a different browser on it Jay? How annoying

TBH, it doesn't do lots of things, like YouTube My Space,anything with applications. Unfortunately we're stuck with the cuddy browser until they (Sony) let us have another one. I can read nearly all forums on it though (ironically, the Sony PS3 forum is a nightmare too!) but the one I need to read on it I cant. Booo
